So dumb question:
MetaMorphosis is an insane Ultimate. Once you toggle it on, there is no timer; you can just stay in Demonform as long as you want. On top of that, you get all new skills. Once you reach this skill, is there any point in investing in any other skills? You can just stay in Demonform and upgrade it’s branch. Especially once you get the vanguard shard which enhances all of your demonform skills. And why bother getting any other Ultimate? All the others have a short duration and longer cooldown!

you lack of any customization in that form.
and the big nodes changes to style where leaving form makes sense and open investing in different points.
look at names of skills as leveling rampage - level up dmg on demon form rampage.
Quite a few reasons really.

By default, you are locked into the Demonform version of the Archfiend skills, most of which are melee focused. You basically must be a melee style build to make use of them.

Domination is not your ‘primary resource’, Wrath is. Most of the resource generation equipment mods will not help you in that form. That means resorting to claw attacks to generate domination.

the modifiers that let you keep your normal loadout of abilities come with downsides that will encourage leaving the form, such as increasign amounts of burning damage dealt to your self.

The archfiend skill loadout you get does not level with Metamorphosis. to make them stronger, you have to invest in the base Archfiend skills that were earlier in the Warlock tree. Putting points in Metamorphosis itself only levels the base claw attack.
I mean, you could build into everything but the demon form skill, then enter demonform to get those skills. It would give you, what, 11 total moves instead of 5. Operate in and out of demonform? I’m still learning this so, just a thought?
