You are right. I do not watch Metacritic very often. However, I am savy and aware enough to realize that the outrage on Reddit the last 2 days after the patch was ridiculous and massive, with multiple and multiple of negative threads with 10k+ upvotes each, so it is very not that unlikely that around 1k of them made an account on Metacritic to give it a negative rating.
To assert with full certainty these are fake or bot accounts, seems decently wrong.

FFXVI changed the games playstyle to 100% DMC style action. Final Fantasy fans were FURIOUS. The amount of hate I watched leading up to that games release was comparable to this.
Hence the review bombs and the Metacritic clean up. I wasnât visibly watching ToTK but I heard that got review bombed to.

Can you not read? Metacritics not credible, so anything you see on Metacritic is not credible. If youâre going to be dumb at least let Metacritic makes itâs usual correction before citing them as a legitimate source of feedback.

I even said I saw them apparantly getting caught accepting Bribes in some cases, so there goes your other little premise here that I think they are credible. Uh no, Metacritic is never credible. When they clean up the spam theyâre a little closer to being credible, but even then how they operate removes any possibility of getting any real accuracy from the site.
If Diablo 4 was getting 10/10 user reviews Iâd be saying the same thing. Youâve gotta pick your battles better, kid. Defending Metacritic is just bad.
Anyone can make a request its whether they choose to act on it
Not only that, but when thinking about it, whatâs not actually credible about metacritic is their own Metascore, and that indeed, is probably not that credible. Especially in instances where their score is way off from the actual user ratings.
The user ratings may not be that uncredible though, considering they are coming from freaking actual users. Not only that, but it even seems to reflect the state of forums, social media, YT, and peopleâs friendâs lists all over the place.

Yeah, told ya. Seems like you think they are more credible when they are positive towards games you like, but not when people give bad reviews, especially of bad games.

giving a game a score of 0/10 is almost always invalid. it means the game has absolutely no redeeming qualities.

So yeah, that is why I donât consider review bomberâs opinions to be valid, because they did not fairly rate the entirety of the game.
