hello guys, as a pvp d2lod player here, trying to figure out the fotm meta class tier list for PvP only.
do you think i should go barb or rogue ? ty
It’s really going to depend if pvp devolves into 1 shot combat.
If that is the case, then mobility and immunity period abilities could become king.
There is also the concept of skills that cant really be avoided and that might make a certain build/class king in alot of cases.
At the end of the day it will come down to if it becomes a 1 shot fest or not because if its not, then EHP will become a relevant factor and make other classes that rely on EHP more relevant.
It’s gonna just be a waiting game for now.

If anything he is saying Sorc will as it has the most critical defence of all - immunity.

If pvp turns into a 1 shot fest, then it will be based on who has the best ranged skills to 1 shot from far away, or who can become immune to damage long enough to 1 shot their opponent first.
I’d assume barb is the opposite since they are balanced around Fortify and being more tanky but if they just get 1 shot, all that potential tankyness is largely wasted.
Don’t you think the game should release and people should play before we attempt to make a tier list?
I can tell you what people who played the closed beta said, but the game has changed substantially since then, so there’s no telling until we play.
i think sorc will be very squishy, any rogue can go stealth, shadow step stun kill or if not dead just dash away and reset

The closed beta leaks we had basically had barb being the runaway best, with druid being the only other viable option, both because they get a legendary that consumes resource instead of health when taking damage, spam fortify, and are basically just unkillable. That said it was also said that a shadow based necro has the damage to be threatening to barbs…but that was also the only thing positive* I’ve heard about any non barb or non druid class
We’ll see how much has changed since then come launch.

Also worth pointing out that you can be grouped in the pvp zone… Which probably means grouping in the zone is more or less a soft requirement to not get farmed there.
A class like necro, for example, could have strong group utility and be very desirable or good for a group comp, but absolutely terrible solo or even stacked.

Barb and druid are meta for PvP I believe from the closed beta.
Sorcs get access to a way to make teleport have no cooldown
no cooldowns nah thats fake news, 3 sec cooldown yea maybe
Maybe post 3 or 4 more PvP threads. You haven’t spammed enough of them quite yet.

From what I have heard from people who did the closed beta last year it was Druids and Barbarians on top. We’ll have to wait and see what the streamers say when the embargo lifts tomorrow.

Sorcs and necros were also rumored to be monsters in end game PVP. My buddy said a thorns necro one shot him on his pvp barb.
