Anyone else feel mentally and physically exhasted? Levelling up to P300 with repeat pit runs and hordes has become such a grind that I feel broken. I don’t know if I have another one in me or any energy left to play the next season and do all of this all over again. I love new content. But is it worth playing the next season? Or is it probably better to play with eternal characters?. Also they shouldn’t have put the glyphs in the pit. Getting glyphs to 100 is so hard for most classes except spiritborn who had it easy pretty much the entire season. Torment IV is difficult. So there needs to be another way to level up glyphs besides the pit. Dont force all players into playing the worst mechanics of the game. Id take back nightmare dungeons anyday than the pit. That way you don’t have to plan your entire build revolving around the pit. The danger with this is most builds lose originality and pretty much everyone is funneled into the same pit build… e.g Quill Volley and Eagle Evade.
Paragon 300 is not something I decided to waste my time on this season. I got up to 250 and that was after completing all my personal objectives within the game. To spend hours upon hours just grinding for a number on the screen was not my idea of fun, so I decided not to do it.
Also paragon exp will be added to the eternal realm, so over time I will eventually hit 300 Paragon on the Eternal Realm and then I can claim my rewards. It may take me several seasons, but I’m in no rush either. I’ve done countless grinds just like this in other games, I’m well beyond that phase in my life.
Oh that’ll change come S7, don’t worry. There will be a new meta.
Masterworking and weighted drop rates injured my soul far worse than leveling to Paragon 300 did.
I look forward to sometime in the non-existent future when Blizzard cares about their customers almost as much as they care about money.
anything above 275 is completely useless. So I didn´t put any effort after that level.
Yes, that’s a problem. Before changing the 4 tiers of the world to 8 tiers (4 “basic” and 4 torment), the devs didn’t want us to enter t4 and then spend time only in pit. And how did it end?
We sat in pit to level up our character to paragon 300, because nowhere else except pit can you gain xp as effectively.
I hit 300 paragon for the trophy, cat (not worth it) and achievement, but I doubt I’ll do it again, because pit was as dull as ditchwater.
The problem isn’t even the slow leveling to max paragon, but how to achieve it.
If we were able to achieve a similar amount of xp through other activities, it would be more enjoyable.
Because at this point pit has some kind of xp boost just for completing it, which no other activity in the game has.
Personally, I think if someone wants to turn on a movie on a second monitor and mindlessly gain xp (e.g. pit 65 tier in max 1.5 min) then why not, it works somehow, but in general I do not recommend it and I think it is better to leave it for eternal and especially during Mother’s Blessing.
Someday you will finally hit that paragon 300, e.g. by doing pit for half an hour a day.
Until they change either pit or the possibility of leveling elsewhere I do not recommend bothering.
I didn’t bother with that useless achievement
I quit around 250, to go farther was just too much work for too little return. I’ve done pretty much everything I set out to do anyway.
I plan my builds for 250. Pretty reasonable target for a Season. You won’t get it in one night, but you don’t feel like you’re farming just for XP, either.
But mostly it’s because that’s about what’s left after I start pruning back what a build doesn’t need. “Need” is the key word with paragon. The paragon board has a lot of “nice to haves”, but “probably shouldn’ts”.
Couldn’t have said it better. Its a game. It’s supposed to be enjoyable not a daily repetitive grind. I must have run about 500 pits this entire season. Probably more since I got all my SB glyphs to 100.
Meh. Im not looking forward to the pit again though.
Embrace yourselves for Pit Lvl 600 in season 7
Helltides, perhaps? Right now is the second best place to level, and it’s more fun than grinding pits. Slower XP, yes, but is gets the job done.
D4 is not a 100m race, it’s a walking marathon, at least for me…
I’ve donne roughly less than 100 pits, for sure. I only did them to level my glyphs, and nothing else.
I refuse to do that. My paragon level was around 230 when I finished the season and thats where it will remain. Maybe one day Ill grind the rest on my eternal necro. But no way will I ever grind 300 every season. Thats just there for D4 tryhards who dont play other games and want something to do while waiting for next season.
It all depends on how someone wants to play, but a lot of players still focus maybe not so much on speed as on efficiency.
I did helltides and hordes and undercity for a longer period of time, but all of that gave me progress twice as slow, and in the game I had already done everything.
If you have something to do in the game then I highly encourage to just play the game and not focus on pit (unless the glyphs), but I suspect most want to reach paragon 300 mainly for the achievement and the thought that we are somehow chained to pit is not optimistic.
In pit about half of xp is for killing monsters and the same for completing the pit. In dungeons for example there is no such thing, the same in the undercity.
It’s just not fair that there is some activity in the game that gives more xp just because.
And yes, you are right, maybe we could go to helltide, but when you already have everything finished in the game, well equipped character, you just don’t want to waste time (and remember that paragon about 284 is only half the journey to max).
And as much as I do enjoy playing D4, not everyone wants to play literally the whole season, there are also other titles to play.
I pushed up to lvl 291 and it killed the game for me.
If a game makes you feel physically exhausted you should just quit playing that game.
I (shamefully) set Sekiro down for that reason. I was just too crap at it and it was draining with the lightning guy.
I got to 240 prior to the holiday XP bonus… and using that got to 268.
I hit 270 yesterday and don’t much care to grind beyond that. I may get to 300 one day on the eternal realm. I’m more focused on S7… rolled a barb last night… hit 35 and equipped a boatload of mythics… then facerolled to 60.
I might just roll a barb in S7… first time I’ve played one and it was a lot of fun and will be a nice change from a sorc main. No interest in SB… I rolled one for the lulz about a month ago but it’s so broken it’s not even fun.
There is practically no reason to bother with P300… I was planning on seeing if i could make it but then I found out that somewhere around P284 is the 50% mark for total XP on the way to P300… when I found that out, I was like uhhh, no thank you and gave up around P280…
I like having some “reward” come from playing, it’s just eventually you’re just adding +5 Main Stat and it’s like who cares? And really, it felt like that since P250 or so. There should be more of a reason to keep the grind going.
I stopped at 280, funny thing is I have not completed a single “Dark Citadel” run. I just don’t play in groups so I just skipped it. 300 is a little too much grind though (IMO) but they can always fine tune it once they get more metrics from players.
The game needs more work though for sure. Rifts and GRs in Diablo III are much better and there is no group meta with DPS and Supports so it does need some work there.
Blizzard can fix it with more work though because the base game is pretty good. I will just be bouncing between D4, Last Epoch and eventually POE2. Also looking forward to TitanQuest 2 when that finally arrives.
There technically isn’t in D3, either. That’s a completely player invented idea, one of which Blizzard didn’t actively endorse and barely tolerated (judging by how they patched).
