Memory leak still a problem?

So i just upgraded my computer, or pretty much build a new one. Went from 1080 to 7900 xtx, and the game eats all the 24gb of VRAM on ultra settings and sometimes crashes. I have tried my build on games like cyberpunk (ultra), and stress tested it as much as i can, and it has all been stable besides diablo 4. They still have not been able to fix performance issues after multiple months?

Can this just be an AMD/resolution issue? My RTX 4070 works like a charm since launch and VRAM consumed is pretty much stable in QHD (I use MSI Afterburner overlay to monitor this).

Propably something with amd, it runs 17gb of VRAM on character selection… Pretty nuts. I have to try if it’s something to do with drivers.

Did you try setting up any custom settings in the radeon software? I am running an rx580 and I’m not capping out at all. Is your driver up to date? Did you try run DDU to clear out all of the AMD software/Nvidia software when you upgraded your GPU?

Not trying to argue I’m just asking.

The massive memory leak is still there. It’s not amd or nvidias fault and no amount of adjusting settings, wishful thinking or discussing on forums will fix that. The game is a broken pile of s**t. Refund it.

Thats not true. Like I said I’m running an RX580 with no issues so if it’s eating a 7900’s ram it’s probably a quality setting in the radeon settings that needs to be adjusted OR the driver install is messed up and you need a ddu and reinstall. I played all night and didn’t have to close out the game to fix it once etc.

I’m not saying it can’t happen BUT I would bet on a bad driver install over all else.

I run 4070 and I have the fenris crash which basically just relates to running out of vram.

Don’t know what it is but my old desktop and laptop don’t have issues. New desktop and laptop oddly have crash issues. Unfortunately the old computers don’t run the game very well, they just don’t crash. It’s tough decision… Bad performance no crash or good performance with lots of crashing.

This is really strange as I have no issues with my 4070 at all. So the issue is not the card itself.

Only thing I can think of is monitor refresh rate. No idea really but…

If I turn my monitor down to 120hz (not 240) I crash way less… Still crash though. My older computers don’t support going to 240hz and the older laptop I believe is 144hz screen.

What’s your RAM and CPU setup? Also what’s your cooling method for your GPU and CPU?

This was my first thought, but I have an old display too and it’s done just fine with my 4060ti. Most of my in-game issues were latency based.

Seems to be resolved. Maybe minor hiccup when intentionally trying to break it rapidly pressing the social O and clan N hotkeys.

Dont think the game is designed to run on ā€˜ultra’ performance setting.

I remember in the very helpful, very detailed thread from the computer repair person documenting cards and issues something was mentioned about settings also causing an issue consistently.

What are your RX580 settings? At launch and through Season 1, I had to lower FPS to 80 in order to get through a Helltide. Otherwise, the fan would spin up, the screen would go black and i’d have to hard reboot. It was ā€œstableā€ until Season 2 came out, and now that little tweak doesn’t work for me anymore and I cannot get more than a few mins into a Helltide before it crashes. I have zero problems with the game outside of Helltides.

Thanks.
