So, starting from today a friend of mine began to have really long loading times (after visiting one or two zones), so long it gets disconnected by the server for not responding
It appears the game fills up his memory completely and quite rapidly
His system has 8Gb RAM only (which is minimal requirements)
And as i can see, my game takes 8Gb+ of memory, which is huge (i never looked at it before), it surely can’t fit in my friend’s setup
The thing is it ran perfectly before, so it makes me think there was an update today introducing this huge memory consumption (and we don’t see it in our 32Gb memory setup)
If at all possible, your friend needs to upgrade RAM. I’ve been benchmarking a lot of games the past two years and would note it’s extremely rare that a major release can run on 8GB of RAM. The few games that can were built with a fairly old engine and with worse graphics. Thankfully RAM is dirt cheap lately.
D4 generally allocates about 14-15GB of system RAM on my setup. 1080p ultrawide high. 32GB of RAM. I don’t think it’d run well on 8GB of RAM, even with every other process/app closed.
