So avoiding WW and getting to 78 I think the issue with every other skill than WW for barbs is range and targeting. Haven’t played diablo 3 in a while or diablo 2 since back in the day, But coming from doing a lot of POE the melee range and targeting feels off.
Maybe because POE skills have a lot more AOE to them but all our skills almost require us to be inside the monster to go off and if we’re too close we stand there doing nothing until we manually adjust position. Half the time trying to run double strike (just trying something different) my barb tries to run thru monsters and moves back and forth until I hold shift to force the attack. Even then then number of targets hit seems to fluctuate, one time I will hit 8-9 targets standing Infront of me other times I’ll hit 1-3. Obviously hota doesn’t have the same issues because of the larger aoe radius but even when using that I caught my barb sometimes trying to move right next to an enemy before smashing the ground.
Obviously the easiest fix would probably be to increase the range on some of these skills that they can hit. I’m not suggesting halfway across the screen, But you know a couple feet not inches would help
another thing that POE has that when I found it really was amazing was you can assign your right click to always hold. it was optionally but when doing a melee build I’m generally moving with left click and having right click try to move is just weird.
Side note: I give up I’m just going to go WW since the jankyness of the current melee combat isn’t fun, combined with the lack of decent aspect options for pretty much everything there’s very little reason not to go what is atleast effective.
