Additive (+) % damage synergizes with any generic multipliers (×) you have, making it much more valuable than physical.
We don’t have any multipliers strictly for physical damage other than the Elements aspect. It’s actually worse than almost any other additive option, unless you’re using Elements, which is only up 50% of the time, so it’s still the least valuable option next to non-physical.
Warcry should passively increase our physical damage by 30-40%x.
Funny to note that physical damage over time still exist in some form. Even though the generic ‘damage over time’ affix also exist usually has higher value.
Yeah there are plenty of affixes that should still be streamlined (removed) and consolidated.
- Physical Damage over Time → Damage over Time
- Damage over Time → Additive Values significantly increased (or just convert to Strength)
- Gushing Wounds → Changed from Bleed Specific to Damage over Time. Changes Damage over Time to a portion providing Multiplicative Damage increase (similar to Blood Rage)
- Physical Damage → Strength
- Damage to Close → Strength
- Damage to Ranged → Strength
- Damage to Crowd Controlled → (Portion made Multiplicative via Paragon or Technique)

In simple terms, since there is so much mis-understanding here.
All i am saying is I noticed the Tag, Physical with damage, and It says something about bleeds as well, and nothing in my build had this Affix, so I looked at the Enchanter the Items, the Tempers and couldn’t find it anywhere.
(nOT SAYING IT IS USING BLEED, but that is what it says, and it’s a base stat of 10% or i had a node i forget tbh, i have moved on from bleed barb atm. ) I could screen shot so you can see it if i can be bothered.
You know i was like a barb finding a SQ item, What is this? That is all i am really saying, and that the Devs need to clarify this and maybe fix it if its broken, or merge or whatever they do, or get rid of it, becasue it’s not accessible from what i found outside Overkill and Butchers Cleaver, Perhaps other GA rolls who knows but i will be one foot in the grave maybe two before that happens to come along, so ruling that aside.
Maybe it can be ignored, currently, but it may be a wrench in the bleed mechanics or it may be useless and a wasted Unique stat and board nodes, so why have this at all, and certainly mechanically tied to bleed, does’;t make much logic in terms of regular player of D4.
That is all I am saying. Take it or leave it, there is nothing more to be gained, i am not using it to “Figure it out” rofl, One i am not that full of myself, and two i havent’t used it at all to get to T3, it was only when i hit a Wall at PIT 59 i Even payed it any attention.
It could also be that my barrier Multi got broke in the mid season patch, since that on a 2H weapon does nothing atm like it previously was, so could be that. idk

For the future, i am only stating what i see in game, I am not a meta user, I don’t care about trying to “Figure it out” D4 is simple but has choices, and customization, but and there is depth, but there is obviously the goal of having it be user friendly and legible, and if you study the skills and nodes, it basically guides you to the potential path of making a build based on those choices, for the most part, so that is how i play, and in doing so, noticed that unlike other classes, this was not clear, and looked half cooked to me, and I vaguely remembered it being on previous starter boards,
So for example, if gushing wounds tells you it is based of Crit Chance, than you need that stat to boost its effect right, So if you then select 3 points in the passive that increase’s crit chance and you see no increase in number, well i am not going to use a calculator and read the dmg numbers on a DOT build i can tell you that much. so my only choice as a gamer is to use the games tools, which is why i play them, not to buy a calculator and a spreadsheet and do data entry, that is not my jam. c

Edit- BTW my 2H hammer has a 448 greater affix to all damage with it i have 15k and 550%aprox without it around 433% appx all damge affix.
Overkill equipped 24K, with it and all damage at 433%
So this is causing a bigger jump in something under the hood, and it’s impossible to add to this tag without overkill since ideally i would have the all damage hammer with a higher multiplicative aspect.
The off set is just too big to make up elsewhere since damage with physical is not easy to add too. I cant roll it, temper it , nothing.
ontop of that it affect bleed under the hood… idk man that is what i am seeing and the speed on my clears reflects it when i play with and with out it.
