There is a max of favor tokens u can have so the rest of the season whenever i earned a favor token i get an error saying that i am at max tokens but because i have bought all the useless “lets put horns on everythign” armor set there’s nothing I can do about it.
God … This season is bad and Blizzard should feel bad about it.
I believe they will carry over to the next season’s battle pass, so you’ll have a head start there.
Correct they will carry over, but it’ll be an ongoing issue for those who play longer. You’ll start the next season, be able to buy most if not all items from the BP (definitely all if you don’t pay for it and just get freebies). Then by the time you reach level 60 and get maybe 100 paragon or less you’ll be capped again.
I don’t really see how it’s an issue. The “currency” for battle passes before was monster kills. No one was complaining before about not getting credit toward the next season’s battle pass after they finished the current one. Now that there’s an official currency that gives people a head start on the next battle pass, this complaint is like saying, “Why can’t I buy next season’s battle pass items now?” Answer: because the next battle pass is not out yet.
Personally I appreciate getting a head start on the next one. I’m also enjoying that this is available on the eternal realm now, because I can’t be bothered leveling new characters every season.
I haven’t seen any “error” messages about favor tokens. I got one warning that I was almost at the cap, and after I hit 99 tokens I haven’t gotten any other messages.
on the flip side, i haven’t unlocked a single thing nor do i even have enough saved up to complete this ‘event’: i won’t be doing any of it as a protest. none of the free things are even worth the effort so w/e.
I agree the only issue is the error message. To be fair I’d want them to take away the ‘token’ popup too though. Too much clutter on the screen as is, don’t need more.
But that’s the whole plan of the team - it’s designed to ‘push’ us to buying the battle pass again in the next season - because we have so many favour tokens already. It’s predatory and unethical in my opinion - straight out of the mobile gaming handbook of how to exploit your player base into spending money.
Now, if they allowed you to convert ‘favour tokens’ into platinum so that you could play enough this season to purchase the battle pass for next season, that would be great and I might still be playing S8.
I don’t ever see this happening to be honest. Not unless it’s a horrible ratio of 50 tokens to 1 platinum.
