While I may think that decent ancestral gear has become a bit too rare and near impossible to consistently farm for I think what’s worse is that maxing your aspects is tied to them and in a horrible way. Not only do you have to find an ancestral item in the first place, it also needs to have the aspect you’re looking for, and then has to roll in the top 25% or more which is just crazy. I’ve put more than 100 hours in the game since launch and have literally one aspect maxed out and I regularly farm whisper caches and radiance tributes (also extremely rare), I save up pale marks and buy all the aspect caches from the mercs, run hordes and open the chest, etc etc. Am i missing something here? Any max aspect used in the top spiritborn builds this season are 8-10 billion or more on the trade sites and are just trash items otherwise. So basically if you want to progress you have to either get extremely lucky and find an item or a few that you can sell for big gold or you have to RMT. Is this supposed to be a pay2win game? Aren’t those usually free to download? I wouldn’t know because I don’t play them and don’t think we should have to pay money for items in game to progress. If ancestrals are going to be so rare and going to have max aspects tied to them they should at least ONLY roll in the max aspect range rather than finally finding an ancestral with the aspect you need only to have it roll the minimum possible % despite it being ancestral.
That being said there’s tons of new things to do and I’m thoroughly enjoying the expansion it just seems like the grind to max out aspects is near on impossible and that’s just bad. Also it would be nice if the icon that shows an item will upgrade an aspect that shows at the blacksmith would just show all the time.
Yeah it’s pretty obvious that ancestral legendaries are too rare at the moment. It’s somehow easier to find a mythic unique than it is to find a decent aspect.
