Not much to say here, but just wanted to say that, although im enjoying the game, and the Loot 2.0 definitely helped alleviate the last bad taste this game instilled upon me last I played, i find that the max 2 affixes, all the way up through the game… seems, ridiculous.
I’m sure many are fine with it, and thats fine, each to their own, but the items offer no extra worth, other then bigger damage numbers, and you fight the same odds through the entirety of the game - the fact that they are restricted to two affixes makes finding a suitable gear even worse then it should be.
Again, im not complaining about the game, so to say, as i definitely got enough enjoyment out of the game to say i was satisified, but just more so stating how underwhelmed i am by Blizzards lack of creativity, and what seems to be a common trend of selling as little as possible for maximum profits.
Years ago, David Brevik and friends paved the way to a godly franchise, elaborating on ideas and games such as gauntlet, golden axe, etc. And in the first two diablo games, fleshed out solid games. The last two iterations have felt as bare boned as possible at release, with complete intention of selling expansions to unlock further content, that imo, should have just been part of the core game.
Its become all to common place for the expansion model, and instead of using it to add genuine fresh new ideas and content that just couldnt be squeezed into the game, its used to intentionally withhold and retax the customer for as much as possible.
And this game clearly still show signs of barebones.
Im sure the expansion will add and be enjoyable, but none the less, i cant help but feel that gaming as a whole has just gone down hill for years, and im not sure it will ever be as exciting as it once was …
Anyways, i have derailed a slight bit.
Just some old guys thoughts.
