…and if someone told you 1-2 weeks ago that Thorn Barb is a thing, you would not believe it.
Point is, there are more than “1-2 viable” builds per class. And with the yesterday update, there will be more.
But hey, criers will still say “LIES!!” or “NOT ENOUGH!!!@!!!”
Seeing Mathil1 stream now, I think I will go ahead and do a Thorns Barb. It looks very good and smooth game play.
Almost anything you can think of can be done up to the entry lvl of WT4, this isn’t what people are talking about. There’s a portion of the community that believes if you can’t solo t100 NM dungeons then the build is crap.
I’ve been using a Thorns/bleed barb since about level 13ish and I’m having fun still at 57. It might not be meta, but I care more about fun than the meta anyway.
The ones “crying”, are not even lvl 75, let alone 100.
He’s level 77 and …I don’t know if it will be “meta”, but his build surely melt everything down fast!

Honestly, I wish that was the worst of the community, but these clowns seem to think that unless you can use your class to go back in time and kill Uber Lilith to prevent 9/11, that it’s broken and useless.
Their parents need to restrict their screen time and block them from constantly watching Twitch streamers so they might accidentally make their own build at some point.
I mean, enough monkeys in a room can write Shakespeare, right?
Rob played a thorn barb around 9 days ago… could be more (he even playtested it in closed beta test)
I suppose the question is whether Blizzard intends for the majority of builds to be capable of completing all the content in the game. If only the meta builds can tackle Tier 100 nightmare dungeons, is that something we are comfortable with? Currently, it’s not a big issue since the only reward is the achievement on your profile. However, what if future seasons introduce additional progression that is locked behind higher-tiered content? In that case, players would be compelled to play these flavor-of-the-month builds.
Doesn’t this point to a fundamental design flaw in the game? Both in terms of skill balance and the balance of the nightmare dungeon content itself.
Kinda …
…but then if we look at any other game out there ( ARPG, MMO, etc ) , like PoE, D2 …even Titan Quest, they have “Meta Builds”, good builds, mediocre builds and finally, bad builds.
So while I would love for every build out there to be able to be “meta”, I … guess Diablo 4 will follow the…usual way.
So its not…Blizzard fault , its…just the way it is it seems.
“…and if someone told you 1-2 weeks ago that Thorn Barb is a thing, you would not believe it.”
Huh? It was a thing in beta and they nerfed it.

I have other complaints but actually, at least for Barbarian, I think we do have more options now. Before it wasn’t as large of a choice. I do think it can be improved though. Especially with damage varieties.

Which is a very narrow poinf of view.
Different builds have different purposes.
LOL he’s doing NM 34 dungeons
huh?
Thorn barb was already a thing during the early alpha test builds. In fact wasn’t there rumours that thorns was nerfed before beta because it was broken in PvP
Yes, and he’s level 80, what’s your point? The same loot drops in NM34 as NM100 and NM100 isn’t a baseline for a build being decent.
He’s level 80, 1 shot everything ( almost ) and is not a decent build?
“Dude” …
Imo the damage you take past nightmare* 65 is such a joke about 95% of builds wont be doing 100 atm anyway.
I use thorns too. I don’t have a build with gear increasing it, but I also realized it’s good to have. Definitely helps when you get stunned and, is funny, when the enemy dies from attacking you.
Razorplate dropped for me the other night. Thought it might be a funny thing to use for this build.
