Masterworking - Reset @ Milestone Ranks 4, 8 & 12

I would like to share an idea for improving the Masterworking experience. To work towards your dream masterworked outcome, instead of resetting ranks to zero every time, a more reliable means for the player is to have specific masterwork reset checkpoints at Ranks 4, 8 and 12, the so-called Milestone Ranks as shown below.

Right now, masterworking feels overly punishing and frustrating for the item’s journey. A more enjoyable experience would be taking you back to your last critical masterwork. However, to maintain a similar cost, Masterworking Reset Cost would be adjusted accordingly. In the end, the goal is to make Masterworking fun!

Yeah but personally I am still playing helping friends. Season really has been over for me during the first week.

The only thing that is motivating me from still playing is landing a 3x crit on my 3ga perfect tempered wepon. I have not gotten that yet.

That’s the reason for you to continue in the game. You haven’t managed it yet. If you had managed it, you would have already abandoned the game. I think the system is good, we shouldn’t have everything we want. Look at the mythicals, they cried because they were rare and now everyone has them. And that didn’t make anyone play more.

High probability yes I would be playing something else 4 days after the season started.

If you say that people will just call you a shill or white knight defending blizzard. A lot of the changes post S3 have really cheapened the arpg experience. Now they have put in a few QoL changes that has made the game better but overall S9 went full D3 like S7.

And now they are uncommon with pitty systems in place and people still cry they didnt get what they wanted when they wanted it.

I would do even more, increase the MW to 16 and put a 50% bonus for the last level. I think that those who play more must have better items than me.

Well because of RNG that can be both true and false at the same time.

Someone could get insanely lucky. For example S3 tuning stones. My friend got both unique stones in 5 runs of the season where it took me 300 runs.

I played S3 a lot longer then he did but because of the power of the stones his character was better then mine until I landed it and then my character surpassed him because my gear was far better as I did end up putting a lot more hours into the season.

That’s the good thing about the game. If everyone has everything, no achievement will be valid. I bet that when you got it, it was a great joy.

Speak for yourself, mystic drop rate improvements caused me to play more. mystic drop rate nerfs are connected with me playing less. I no longer have the desire to build multiple characters a season.

They need change this is priority is pretty Bad, in this season My luck on some ítems are horrendus, example Axial pants from sorc wasted me like 1.2 b and 100k obucite, but that no is the ridiculous part,the first level of masterworking level 4 failed 27 times in a arrow, thats mean the One stat i want never proc in 27 attemps, that failed 1/4 25% 27 times, i never see that before, this is a beyond Bad design, forget the frustration part the worst part is My finger who die in pain for the Manny resets, the Game is close to cause me a physic injured

50 million gold (10x the material cost) to reset the last threshold is too much, especially considering there are players who play SSF and refuse to engage with the duped gold economy. 15 million (3x the material cost) is more than enough.

it takes like 30min to farm 50k obductite or what ever it’s called… it’s obvious the goal isn’t to let ppl make perfect gear faster… No it’s not going to happen unless they drastically cut down the amount you receive so you’d only get like 2%-5% of the rolls you do now as the “gambling” aspect is what hits the dopamine in peoples heads. What people want and what’s good for business ride a fine line of the consumer just being manipulated for interaction. I dunno deal with it or realize what’s happening to you and stop. What people want isn’t what makes a good business model generally.

Masterworking is bad, but making it more deterministic would only make it worse.

I do think they could QoL add a button that goes to 4, 8, 12 and place the reset button closer to the mw button.

I landed my 3x crit on my wepon. The only thing I have left should I continue to play S9 is chace my current 2x crits on the remaining stuff I have.

Season was worse then S7 imo.
