Map Overlay is really missed, any chance of getting one?

It feels so weird to play Diablo 4 without a map overlay.

Map overlays are used by advanced and some casual players to easily navigate the world without having to dart eyes back and forth from the middle of the screen to the minimap, or having to stop playing and open the larger map.

This allows us to continue playing without having to slow down. And from a UI perspective, it’s less fatigue inducing on the players eyes

A map overlay with opacity options would be extremely welcome. even if we have an option to choose between mini map and map overlay, that would be great

Please consider! I know this has been mentioned in a large majority of the feedback i’ve consumed

It would be nice, but I dont think controllers have room for an overlay button.

i feel if D2R is able to do it with controllers, there could be a way to incorporate it in D4 with controllers.

it can even be something where holding down the “back”/“select” button opens up the main map, and just tapping that button opens up the overlay

im torn on that one lol.

i know if its available ill use it at all times but on the other hand if its not available i get to appreciate the graphics/action/art a bit more

i guess im fine either way ill use it if its available and not if its not.

i do think it’s nice to have the option, and if there is an opacity option, we can technically still see the graphics, the map overlay will just me more of an outline over them!

Iirc not every button on the dpad was utilized, could be mistaken though

Just add it as an option and make it a two button action. Just hold one button and press another and good to go. More options in every facet of gaming is always better than fewer.

This is a core feature of any ARPG not just Diablo, not having it is just bad design in my opinion. I’m really surprised it’s not there.

even better then! there’s definitely ways to get it to fit in controller

Don’t need an extra one. Just put overlay in as a third toggle with map, no map. So when you hit tab it will go from map, overlay then no map/overlay.

they seemed to have completely ignored pc players and just went full console on this game. The ui is disgusting, the radial menu in a diablo game is disgusting, having to SCROLL to see all the information i need on a weapon is ridiculous, lack of skill slots makes it boring and repetitive. No map overlay so i’m CONSTANTLY pressing tab to see the map but then I cannot see my character at all.

I prefer the game without the overlay. The map was not challenging to navigate without an overlay by using pins and learning the world map. The absence of an overlay kept the focus on the game world rather than navigating by watching your character move around an overlay maze.

The presence of an overlay would certainly be the most efficient way to navigate and would likely push a lot of players to use it in a desire to min/max. Zooming the minimap out a little would be welcome and help ease navigation.

Please add a map overlay! can’t believe I have to ask this for an arpg.

I think too if an overlay can’t work, we need more control on zooming/moving the map in the corner. It needs more options like a wireframe only option or something for better contrast.

I find the map in the corner is a little too zoomed in and that’s the major reason to go to the big map.

This should be a standard feature, like AC or a Radio in a car.

map overlay is good but they need put the zoom out option in the minimap

Any answer from the Devs about the possibility of an option to move while the map is opened like it’s in D1 & D2?
It’s much easier to maneuver when you’re looking for something or just running through the map and bashing everything around

On keyboard, just pressing tab every once in a while is enough to supplement the mini-map.

On controller, though, the map is a pain

That is an option, but only for a short time as you stop running after a few seconds if you keep it open!
We should be to keep running while the overlay is open.
That was one of the nice key features of Diablo!

I am sure there is a chance in the future. I am however glad they prioritized the navigational tools we did get.
