My char on HC that completed the map exploration and lilith statues is dead…
So if I understand season 1 correctly because I can’t log into my dead char I will have to explore map and find all statues again?
And if so, why can’t you just look at the acct achievements for this?
Everytime I hear how stuff is implemented in this game i am just shocked.
That’s how I understood it too, I just find it odd that we still get the stats from all the alters on new characters but we won’t be able to claim the renown from them in S1?
Idk man I’m starting to lose patience with this game tho.
This needs explaining. They didnt mention hardcore at all.
Do we need to do it all: fog of war/altars/renown again and then not die before the patch?

Could we get an answer from Blizzard? For us hardcore players do we need to have an actual living character with fog of war and altars unlocked so we can log on it when the patch is live?
My lvl 100 died due to a random crash, I don’t really feel like doing the map/altars again just so its unlocked at the beginning of Season 1
they explained that the need to login was a workaround to unlock progress in the short term. so, if your character that explored the map and collected altars is dead in hardcore you cannot unlock its progress. pretty terrible choice to not dedicate more effort to making this work for dead characters but thats how it goes i guess. they have 2 weeks to deliver this patch so the odds they make any significant changes now is slim. at this rate i think by season 4 or 5 the game will be in a decent state. but for now, oof.

My stomach is churning thinking that I have to do all the altars again for a 3rd time. Already completed once on softcore and once on hardcore. BIG SADGE
I mean the “Stat” unlocks still apply even to new characters so how hard can it be to apply those stat unlocks to the Seasonal Realm and Identify which statues you have already picked up even if a new character has not collected the statue again, if that isnt the case and I do actually need a live one for it to count is a huge L.
They have a bunch of amateurs working on this game if that’s the case.
Blizzard we need an answer on this. My level 91 that had all alters and map cleared is dead.
Will I need to create a new HC character and do this all over and keep that char alive
so I can login after the 18th?
Yeah I hear ya, I’m in the exact same boat… I’m kind of expecting that I’ll to have to redo the exploration again since they haven’t mentioned anything about this, which isn’t a huge deal to me, but it is annoying.
I just don’t understand why they didn’t tie this to the achievements page instead of a character…
That way if you log into any character it registers.
Seems like not one person is playing HC at blizz, and its not a major thought in any of their heads.

Gee, it almost seems like there’s a correlation and connection between the perception of “working lazy” and not paying the developers enough. You really gotta pick one. You either blame individual developers, or blame the corporation. ^^
Also… What solutions have they sold to us in Diablo IV?

What kind of experience do you have with editors? Which generic editor are they using in Diablo IV?
I wish they were using a game engine like Unity. Then we wouldn’t have 90% of these problems. The horse pathing tells me all I need to know.
you probably dont have activions blizzard game, you know they dont just made d4
no it the opposite, develop own software to create a games brings much less issues and especially you avoid cloning all native package and plugins with same issue.
You have the same problem with npm packages and web development.
I cant believe this is the solution they chose for this issue…
Question:
I’ve died recently with my main, which had all unlocked.
Now I created a new char which have all the altars(except for 2), skills paragon from reknown bonus.
But all the altars/bonuses are not completed anymore, he just got the bonuses…
So will I have everything unlocked on s1 or not?
Same thing that they fixed ”Epic Adventurer” achievement, first it didnt work at all, now after fix it counts alive characters but ignores dead ones.
The way they handle this made me stop playing for two weeks now, not gonna risk I lose character with statues and map, cant be even sure do you need 2000 renown on alive character to unlock paragon points rewards in next season…
