Malignant Rings

So next week we are getting class specific malignant rings as part of the Uber boss drops.

I know what the Necro malignant rings is but I can’t think of a specific sign for Sorc. I hope it’s not the DR one or just specific to Core abilities or the resource gain. I think the most memorable to me is Barber.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Its probably the Heart that gives you damage for each element you deal damage with.

Or the suppression heart.

The Barber was not a class specific one and none of the sorc hearts where actually good so this is nothing to look forward to (I just hope that they don’t compete with Uber Uniques for Duriels drop slots).

Iirc. most of the other classes didn’t have anything good either except for necros which already got confirmation that they’re about to get the one they wanted.

I know it’s not and that’s why I can’t think of any Sorc specific malignant heart that’s really memorable to me.

I did had fun with the Lionheart but if that’s what they are gonna bring back, I rather not farm it. I don’t think it will compete for Uber items but will compete for other unique drops, like if I am really hunting for Xfal, that’s gonna affect my chances just like how I keep getting Blue Roses.

Ah. Now I remember. I guess that’s fine. Wasn’t there also one for DoT? Omniwrath? Or omnipower?

It adds some projectiles to your core skills (if they have some to begin with) but empties out your mana. They’re both nothing to write home about.

We will most probably get Tal Rasha. There is no logic in anything else.

It’s gonna drop form Varshan. Woohoo! That’s good. Less drop pool with Duriel

Am more excited about the extra CDR, than the Tal’Rasha power.

Well then let’s just hope that that one isn’t bugged. I was doing him the other day for Duriel mats and I got like 4 Frostburns, all sacred with roughly around 700 IP.

The non physical damage is a big L though. Crit rate, attack speed or even just int would have been a lot better here.

(one other thing to note here is that the ring effect should also work with the poison you get from Andariel’s Visage)

Anyone noticed that lucky hit on the necromancer ring rolls up to 13, but on the sorcerer ring only up to 6? Sucks…

The power did work with Barber afaik. So would think it works with Andariels as well.

Tbh only way that ring could be better for Sorc is if it had crit on it. Yes the Non-physical is addative, but so is every +damage that can roll on a ring outside of Crit. For me the bigger L is the lucky hit. As mostly you only do Lucky hit on builds that don’t really need any extra lucky hit.

Tal Rasha’s malignant unique ring info below:

Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop (Sorcerer Unique Ring)

For each type of Elemental damage you deal, gain 10—15% increased damage for 4 seconds. Dealing Elemental damage refreshes all bonuses.

If all 3 elements are multiplicative with each other, max increase in damage is 52% damage (1.15^3).

The ring stats, from the Blizzcon pic:
Item power 800
+5.5% Resistance to all Elements
+2.2% Resistance to all Elements

+Non-Physical damage (19 - 26)%
+Lucky Hit (3.2 - 6.0)%
Resource Generation (5.0 - 12.0)%
Cooldown Reduction (4.2 - 7.0)%

Edit: corrected the CDR figure

Meh I don’t like these mechanics that are trying to push you into rainbow element builds. I went out of my way not to use the firebolt enchant this season and this sort of thing just pushes you right back into it. I guess it will be good for Conjuration builds though. They got a lot of love this season.

It will be good for every build, in terms of damage this will be up to 60% or 75% (depending on how exactly it works) more. Also, fire kind of gets the short end of the stick here while ice can theoretically get the most out of it.

CD was 4.2-7%

I don’t know. In paper, pure Conjuration build seems to have a good series of buffs this season BUT the practical results aren’t that attractive against NM 100.

I think all the experienced Conjuration players are scratching their heads on how to make pure Conjuration work against more challenging content.

I think it’s mainly because of the subpar results we get from Hydra as that that’s the major player in a pure Conjuration build. When that fails to perform, well the rest follows in Conjuration.

Last season I used a fireball build with frozen orb enchantment. Fire, ice, lightning all covered with that enchantment and teleport.

Sorcerers will only get Ta’Rasha
I was hopping barber, picana or creeping death.

More or less where I’m at. Hydra needs to slap, or needs the devs to massively increase in lucky hit coefficient or burn or something, because the current iteration is difficult to incorporate additional functionality, and also deals low damage.

Yep firebolt enchant with ball lightning and frost nova will destroy even more than before with that thing.

Frost Nova doesn’t deal cold damage, and only 2 elements would be on par with what you can already get from legendary aspects.
