Malignant ring is average and only favors the already best skills?

What’s the idea of making it only work for HotA, Upheaval and DB??? They are already the best barb skills and you are just giving them more power. I put together a half thought out DB build just to farm Duriel and I can one shot the WB, what are we gonna do over kill it even more now???

Where’s Rend? Rend is already way far behind and it scales with crit if you go with Gushing Wounds, why not give it to Rend? it’s still going to be way worse than HotA. You gave Rend X’fals and it is STILL way worse and it takes an important resource slot. I dropped a Doombringer and put together a Rend build with 14k armor, all max res, 20k life and a LOT of sources of damage reduction and I still get owned in T100 because I don’t one shot everything… cmon bro I don’t get it at all… just give Iron Blood aspect as a natural bonus for Rend or something, if we can’t one shot then at least make us extremely tanky…

At this point I’m wondering if bleed/Rend will just be revamped in season 3 with how they ignore it

Bro, even for the skills it caters to specifically that ring isn’t very good, because of the changes to Crit. It’s not giving multiplicable damage. It’s just multiplying that one specific additive bucket. So it only matters if you’re piling on a ton of Crit Bucket. Most of us have reduced this bucket in favor of damage to close, more vulnerable to aid in bleed from the paragon legendary node, or damage while beserking.

The devs have made it clear at every turn and every chance they’ve gotten to prove beyond any doubt that they HATE this class, and I for one am tired of it. So much so that I’m ready to start a petition demanding they fix this class and issue a public apology.

Well, Hota benefits greatly from critting. For me personally, critting on an overpower is the difference between doing 20-40mill vs 100-170mill from what I see.

My build would love to use HOTA, it’s just made for it, but I prefer Rend as a game style (love me some axe/sword fighting) but that’s OK, I get the job done without the massive overpower crits like yours… for now…

Once they release the new stuff December 5th I feel it’s time to respec into more DPS just to beat the content and hate the game play at the same time… ah well, so it goes

I don’t know if “hate this class” can really apply when most of the S-Tier builds in S2 are Barb, actually.
This ring is kind of a bust though yeah, the only build that can really build and spend that much fury is HoTA, and more damage isn’t really something it needs right now lol.

It’s an olive branch to HOTA after that awful S1 nerf

With guaranteed overpowers from earthstriker or the paragon board this is probably going to be crazy good.

A crit is a 1.5x multiplier. There are still some multiplicative Crit Damage sources, but it is rare. You would have to stack a ton of additive Crit Damage to get that now. DWB is a better stat to invest in. You want Crits, just not Affixes on gear.

Not entirely true. Replacing Territorial (21) with Wrath (15) bumps me from 279 crit to 410+ with only an 88% increase on Wrath. The increase in damage is notable, despite losing 100%+ to close. Crit damage seems to still hold more value than other buckets, just not DwB.

I have crit damage on 1 ring and a 2H weapon. I’d like to test replacing those rolls with physical, but haven’t been able to yet.

The slow passive should be removed since its useless now and swapped with iron blood yea

Any idea why I am seeing 30-40mill crits on an overpower, but 120-150mill crits on a crit overpower? Both are while berserking and full rage plus limitless rage stacks. I’m only around 200% crit dmg btw.

Need more context. My immediate guess would be your crit damage + Banished Lord’s. Up to 120%[×] for crits that Overpower.

I assume stacking crit damage with this amulet would be the way to go, but I have little to no personal experience or testing with the new Overpower stuff.

Ah that makes a lot of sense. I think you hit the nail on the head.

Beef up your crit damage and see what the numbers are.

It’s definitely all in the amulet’s 120%(x) crit dmg on overpower. I tried swapping between lvl 15 territorial and lvl 21 wrath and the territorial does more dmg for me.

In what scenarios? What are your other stats before and after? What skill(s)?
