Make the pit ladder

STOP DOING BALANCE CHANGES AS DECOYS, MAKE A LADDER FOR PIT SEPERATED BY CLASS, show their skillbar on the ladder so you get a general idea of what they are running, then do nerfs and buffs depending on the highest rift lvl each class can do with their best specs

not at this point, I do not want to see Hearthseeker basic skill Rogue 50 levels above all other Core skills…

? not seeing something doesnt make the problem go away. That’s exactly why you would want a ladder. How else would you get an idea of what’s broken otherwise? Have a couple noobie playtesters and trust them instead of the entire playerbase as a collective?

there is a ladder on maxroll.gg, search maxroll pit ladder

Yeah I can also make up my own ladder but no one will participate in it

Isn’t there a pit similar (in terms of game play ladder) by the shore in the SW of the map?

yes, but that is based on speedrun and obviously no one cares about that, they need to make a ladder for the pit similar to that one but not take 3 seasons to do it

Sure, I’d like a pit ladder just for the fun of grinding as I enjoy that aspect of ARPGs. So, sure, this is definitely something I’d like to see =)

NO! Go play ladder you already have

Those few playtesters will result in more valuable information.
Not that it has to be either/or.
But ladder data just isn’t very useful for balancing.

For one, people are lemmings. They will flock to a few builds. So even if those builds were only 5% better than the next best builds, they might be overperforming those builds by 50%, since anyone who cared about the ladder would be playing the former builds.

Only way to small counter to that, would be to have ladders split by builds. Which D3 coincidentally did.
But, that was only possible due to D3 being so incredibly shallow that you could define builds based on a few set items. Not really doable for any A-RPG that is not complete trash.

Anyway, the issue here is not to figure out what is overpowered, what is underpowered etc.
The issue is a lack of will to act on it.

Found my own thread when I tried to google if pit ladder is out now for the new season tmw so I’ll respond to this necro post since I missed it few months ago.

No, the few playtesters will result in nothing valuable compared to the overall collective because there will be people who are testing specs constantly, so over time with a working ladder you will always see which are overperforming and which are underperforming. The problem you speak of that is the majority of people flocking to a few builds doesn’t matter, people will discover stuff over time where as the few playtesters will just be flat-out wrong.

BUT I AGREE OVERALL, the issue is they don’t care about it not that they can’t do it, and it appears they still don’t care!.

The bad balance is probably exactly why there is no ladder like that. Blizzard doesn’t want people to see how bad most builds are compared to the busted builds.

Here is a Pit Ladder

Good idea +100000000000000

Why would we need a ladder when we can just town portal?
