The Rod is so important to pretty much all builds of SB that it should be an aspect. It is a bit of a catch 22. You need the Rod to get to higher level, but the Rod only drops in higher level.
I needed to buy a Rod this season to grow in power. Just a basic Rod but it pushed me 10x time in damages and versality. Just a suggestion. I do not know now if I am going to retry SB next season, but if the Rod stays as a unique item, I sure will buy one.
Spiritborn doesn’t need anything to get to a level where you can farm the Rod.
Have you tried temporarily using a build that doesn’t require the unique weapon or did you just try to plug and play a specialized endgame build?

You may want to read the latest patch notes for the PTR coming next week. They are nerfing the rod.
Rod of Kepeleke Unique Quarterstaff
- Ranks of Velocity replaced with Ranks of Vigorous.
- No longer reduces Core Skill damage dealt by up to 30%.
- Bonus Critical Strike Damage for each point of Vigor consumed reduced from 1-3% to .1-.5%.
it’s kind of sad that Blizz is doing so. they created thousands of gamers that were/are able to skip simple mechanics because of the builds associated with the new class and the Rod of Kep. that is never a good thing. hopefully the forced co-op doesn’t suffer too-too much and it will give the next OP meta a chance to carry people through it.

Of course Rod has to have an aspect named after him.

You are losing all the bonus crit damage multiplier. This is a colossal nerf for this.
