Now that they have an actual purpose can you just make them constant.
I’m finding I have 30 minutes or so to play before I need to go do something, so I think I’ll just quickly grab some steel and logout but half the time the helltide isn’t active or has under 10 minutes to go so I don’t bother logging in at all.
Please fix this bug…

This seems to be YOUR bug not game’s. Seriously, I do miss them too but I’d rather that stay this way.
Nah, 100% game design bug
Why? I can’t for the life of me think about a single thing that is good about the current system.
I think it makes it less boring…I kinda feel that way…it is kinda a stupid reason I know!!!
Yes it is. A mechanic that isn’t accessible is per definition boring.

Hmmmm… how about balance and limiting power creep? Rewarding players that put the time in? Preventing loot drops from becoming irrelevant?
Just because you don’t want to see it, doesn’t mean there isn’t a reason.
But it is accessible. Are you prevented from logging in during a Helltide? Of course not, you just don’t want to.
You don’t seem to understand what power creep means.
What does timegating balance?
how do loot drops keep their relevance when you get them at half past eight instead of whenever you chose?
How do you put more time in when you log in at half past eight instead of me when i get to play at eight?

I hate that I have to teach people about game design. Why can’t at least one person on this forum figure anything out for themselves?
You don’t seem to know what drops in Helltides.
Forgotten Souls.
What happens to player power when you have unlimited opportunities to reroll gear into the most desirable stat? -The character becomes more powerful permanently. That’s power creep.
What happens when the character has access to a higher average power level? -The game becomes too easy, also known as imbalanced.
What happens when it doesn’t matter what loot you get because you can always reroll them? -Loot drops are irrelevant because almost any piece of gear will do.
All of this is common sense understanding of gaming. Cause and effect. The funniest part of everything I’m pointing out is every single one of these issues is already being complained about in the forum right now and this requested change would just make it worse.
Want to know the way to prevent these issues if you make Helltides permanent? Reduce loot drops by 70% or increase material requirements by 700%. I can’t wait for people to complain if that ever happens.
Helltides will be permanent now.
Well, 55 out of every 60 minutes at least.

believe that change is starting in s3 if i understood them correctly

Yeah that’s not power creep.
Power creep is when the maximum power level gets raised with each new content drop.
Forgotten souls don’t have any impact on power creep or maximum power level since items can roll the desired stats when dropping.
Limiting a crafting resource behind a time gate in a single player game is bad game design.

You need to teach yourself a few things.
Guess we can just move the conversation here.
Developer’s Note: Forgotten souls became much easier to get in Season of the Malignant. Helltide was designed to be the primary source of Forgotten Souls, but being able to acquire them through other means disincentivized players from playing Helltide. We want to encourage players to participate in Helltide more, but do not want to completely shut down alternative sources of Forgotten Souls. So, we have broadened the types of items that can grant Forgotten Souls when salvaged but decreased the drop rate. Previously, only weapons could provide them when salvaged but it was a guarantee.
So if they want helltides to be relevant, they need to lock forgotten souls in it.
Then access to helltides should be open and not time-gated.
If they don’t want to lock forgotten souls into helltides, then there should be a relative relevant drop rate outside of helltides - which there isn’t.
This was mistuned.
but do not want to completely shut down alternative sources of Forgotten Souls
It has been functionally completely shut down.
Lots of workarounds for this:
Revert change.
Increase salvage chance.
Have them drop in NM bosses in decent amounts like 2-5(rng) per Boss kill, most people finish 4 in an hour.
OPEN HELLTIDES.

Well, I guess our overlords have made their decree.
You can now teach us what we learned from this, Purrsuasive
Power creep is not about content drops, take a design course and you’ll learn this stuff.
Power creep is when the average power level of characters increase.
If you can consistently reroll stats to get the better/best roll for every single piece of gear: the average power level of characters increase.
Like I said before, cause and effect.
Please let me know where you got your degree in game development from, I want to compare it with mine.
Also, watched the fireside chat, loved that every single thing they talked about in regards to itemization was something I’ve already said. Maybe if the average player would learn instead of shouting “loot filter” and “give me all the stuffs” they’d have a better time.
Its nice to see that you’re wrong and it only took an hour… nice

Could just apologize you know. Small community here.
Anyway, you have good points and i dont necessarily disagree with everything you write.
Delivery is a bit rough sometimes and triggering but i am that way too.
Burying the hatchet on my side. Hope to be on the same side of the fence.
Why would I apologize? Because I’m verbose and explain myself you somehow got offended? That’s my fault how? I’m objectively angry now because you somehow think it’s my fault that you inserted your own perspective into my writing. Am I to stop talking because if I don’t type in 120 characters or less people will assume I’m angry? I don’t know how to fix that problem and frankly I don’t think I’m the one that needs to worry about fixing that problem. I mean, shucks, how can I control how someone reads what I type? Honestly I don’t think I’d like to control that even if I could. But seriously, why is the first instinct to inject anger into reading instead of teacher? I try to put in punctuation to slow down the reading of the sentences. I try to limit my use of capital letters and exclamation marks, the universal signifier for “loud”. I’m trying to use italics as the “this is critical” but that’s not rah rah rah raaahh. Meh. I guess this isn’t the place for me.

Power creep is when new content drops making old power irrelevant. Similar to when 925 gear got added. Just stop.
