In d2, but also in d3, when you encounter an elite mob, you can recognise it easily, due to the different colors used.
It makes an elite mob more intimidating, making it really special.
During the d4 beta, if mostly only noticed I was fighting an elite by either the indication below its name or the icons next to the name. But the visuals used where very similar to normal mobs, elite might be a tad bigger sometimes, but it had not the same effect on me as the color change.
I have the same feeling
Most elites usually look like typical monsters - it’s easy to get killed sometimes - The only way to recognize elites is to turn on monster bars in the options and search for the name “elite” they should change it
Agreed. Diablo 3 did it right as far as colour coding Elite and Rare enemies go. The colour doesnlt need to be exactly the same but some form of easier differentiation from trash mobs would be welcomed.
Couldn’t agree MORE!!
Elites/bosses, etc need to be VISUALLY DIFFERENT and furthermore, the colored text of said npcs should be different too
IDK I kind of got the hang of it without them being all glowy and crazy looking. For the most part the elites seemed larger than the normies and after a bit of game play I could spot them without too much difficulty. I would prefer not everything being as shiny as D3. Maybe make their health bars more obviously different?
I don’t think they need to have a blue or gold aura to them. Heck, they have an icon above them with the affixes they have. That to me is indication enough.
