Make class quests one-off

The first time you make a character of each class, getting to level 15 and seeing what this special class specific ability is is quite exciting.
You get a storyline about your character’s background, you engage in some story driven combat and wayfinding, you get to learn about the skillmechanic, start reading all the differences and start theory crafting.

However, the next time you make a character of the same class, it’s not that fun:

  • you’re often already lvl60+ before you do it, since we all rush to max level as fast as possible (since that’s where the game seems to be)
  • You’ve already heard the story content before
  • You’re often just waiting around for the story to be told
  • worst of all: as a Druid you gotta manually pick up 500 spirit offerings because the dog won’t do it

Hence, my experience is that these class quests are only worthwhile the first time around, and an annoying chore after that.

My suggestion therefore is to simply unlock the class mechanic for every character of a class if you have already unlocked the mechanic for that class on a previous character.

Thanks in advance

There’s no love from Blizzard for alts. You can’t share Glyphs, each alt has to unlock waypoints, and every one has to re-conquer strongholds, the only thing they relented on was Reputation being shared.

Though apparently paragon is shared in VoH? I’m not sure if that is a thing or not.

Anyways, it would be nice if there was an option to skip certain repetitive tasks… chores… busy work.

For example, your second toon of the season gets a “unlock all waypoints and strongholds from prior seasonal play?” like the “Skip campaign” check.

Second seasonal Druid, “You’ve fully unlocked Druid abilities this season, skip or play thru again?” etc. Real QoL improvements that should be drop dead simple to add.

I agree this is becoming boring and tedious each season. I skipped my class quest until almost level 100 because of it on the rogue.

Definitely doesn’t feel right and fit in seasons

Wait, what? You people ignore your class quests until then? I could understand getting to maybe 30 before doing it, but 50-60+ really? Now that’s just lazy.

I can agree with this. They aren’t needed beyond doing them once on any character, and just take you out of the way to get something done. I’d say the Druid one irks me more due to the fact I have to complete a stronghold just to have access to turn in the offerings. They also put the NPC’s at the bottom without an easy way to get to them, give me a rope or a ladder directly to them, or move them, something.

Quite judgmental… it’s not lazy at all, it’s just how it works:
-1 person says on discord that they’ll make a new toon

  • 1 person says “I’ll help you”
  • 1-2 other people also make anew toon and tag along

Then what happens:

  • 3 new toons stand at the entrance of the WT2 capstone dungeon while the helper completes it. They are now already level 30
  • They switch to WT3, and do that capstone dungeon. They are now level 45
  • They do a few lvl50+ nm dungeons and level some glyphs. They are now lvl65 and have some level 15 glyphs
  • They do a few tier 4 infernal hordes. They are now level 80+ with a full set of 925 legendary gear.
This all takes 2-3 hours. Where is the laziness of not doing 3 totally separate class quests, such as the Druid stronghold + spirit offering connection, the sorcerer dungeon, or the rogue overworld back & forth plus a dungeon?

That’s just something you end up doing solo in WT1 because it’s a chore after the first time you do it, and it’s not particularly fun/useful/interesting for other people to tag along for.

Im on board with this change. The class quests can go the way of the lilith altars. One and done.

If you’re with friends that makes sense, however once you all hit 30 and completed the first capstone you could’ve just said, ok taking a break to complete class quests for a bit. We’ll group back up after those are done.

So yes laziness for an unwanted chore. Again I agree with you, and it should be changed, but for the moment it is what it is. Go do your class quests. :stuck_out_tongue:

Other than the Druid, these quests take five minutes tops.
