Dmg and survivability have been nerfed for all classes. Helltide difficulty was increased, chest cost was increased, and cinder drops seem decreased.
It now is significantly harder to farm forgotten souls to both upgrade gear and reroll stats and the only place to get them are helltides.
I was only able to get 4 souls in 30 minutes from a helltide and that was playing as a rogue and not dying. Imagine how impossible it’s going to be for sorc now if they die and lose half their cinders.
Blizz needs to fix this or allow forgotten souls to be acquired by some other means.
Edit: People are stating that forgotten souls can be obtained from salvaging (non-upgraded) legendaries. I can confirm this is true, as I just got a soul from a random legendary I got from NMD.

they hotfixed shacos in 4 hours.
if they saw this helltide change as a bad thing, it would already be fixed.

I hope they can drop from salvaging legendaries. that would make it much easier to get
I’m pretty sure the helltide cinder change was very intentional. They only said it was a bug because of the sheer amount of complaining.
if you salvaged upgraded gear it always did that. otherwise imma need a screenshot of this happening.
They are currently dropping occasionaly from salvaging legendaries since the patch.
I didn’t see it in the notes so I assume it’s a bug and they will hotfix asap because it’s a nice QoL change and they want to force us into farming their awesome helltide content.

I’ve confirmed this like 10 times today. fresh legendaries from NMD, no upgrades. I was getting almost 1 soul per NMD.
Just go play and salvage a few things, you will probably see one.
well that is helpful at least, cuz having to be on when there is a helltide and feeling forced to do them just for souls gets annoying

They can even pretend this wasn’t a bug and leave it in so they can say the patch wasn’t 100% bad!
I am not playing until season 2 at the earliest. Good to know I won’t have to run helltides tho, since they are useless other than souls. And now that your get souls else where…
Abuse it asap in S1 before Blizz comes and kills the buzz
