Major BUG discovered

I recently started having a strange issue. At first I thought it my class or my build. But upon further testing I discovered something. I play a quill vollet spiritborn. I would be running pits, decimating everything, then all of a sudden I was dead with no warning.

What my testing revealed is that mobs will occasionally get “stuck.” For example, I’d destroy everything in a room, packed with mobs and elites. Then, I’d go to the next area, where they would be only a few random trash mobs, such as a few succubi. Normally, I’d one shot these thing, but when I attacked them, they became vulnerable then just stopped losing health. If I kept attacking them, they’d suddenly unfreeze, and all the damage they would’ve done during that time hits me all at once, but none of the damage I did to it registers. This is especially dangerous when it’s a pack.

Now, I figured out a temporary solution: backtrack where you know it’s clear. Once you get far enough away for things to reset, I could go back and one shot them. I’m sorry, though, there are too many factors for me to determine what’s causing it. But, it also happened when I tested it again on my Necromancer.

Some cases, monsters enter in a state of “intangible/locked on” they still can deal damage. But when they reach this state, if you die they often die too.

My guess is a desync with servers. If it happens that means that some iterations weren’t registered. Kept being stacked and eventually updated.

Edit:Happened to me a couple of times on older seasons and currently sometimes happens on infernal hordes(but dying kills them).

For me, it never used to happen. Now, it’s every single time I log in, regardless of what I’m donig. Even in the overworld.

I almost certain is something stressing more on their servers. My overall guess is that paired with spaguetti code they usually have. Yesterday I just got an item with PH on it, just to put in perspective.

Probably. I now my inet is more than capable as a hard-wired 600mbps line. They need to fix it though. It’s making playing at all difficult.

This sounds like the problems i have if too much on the screen is happening on the same time in combination with short time lag/ping spikes.

I have this a lot if im in hell tides during peak times, where a lot of people are online.
This happened to me before the evade “bug” was fixed with evage eagle build.

Indeed. Started happening a few days after release of VoH here.

Its definately on their side, dont worry about your internet. Blizz servers are on hell right now after release and the game is so buggy right now…so you can deal with it or wait until it is fixed…maybe after a year or so :sweat_smile:

Yea something is def wrong with mobs. Its gotten really bad today after the patch. But im noticing that mobs im attacking, their health just will not move, even with me doing millions upon millions of damage. But if i evade away, then jump back on them, the damage will hit like its supposed to do. Noticing it alot on dungeon bosses and mobs that are knocked down.

I tested it out on Duriel, and sure enough, me just sitting on him and just casting QV, his health, just did not move.Even popped a scourge and I got huge numbers, but the health just remained the same, but back away, and leap on him with a hunter, and he was instantly dead. Its like the game is really delayed in reporting damage, if at all.

Exactly. Sometimes even evading or casting Hunter has no effect and you end up dodging things or running and retracing your step until it resets. Or die. It’s making pits and nmds a pain. I am considering stepping away until it’s fixed. I can’t play like this. It takes twice as long to do something (hell on the timers) if you’re constantly running and avoiding stuff helf the time.

This game has massive lag spike problems since the release of the expansion, it’s ridiculous. Playing any build that has a lot of attack speed or rapid fire shooting skills have problems with lag/ping spikes

They must have their network input throttled too tightly. I have a 600mbps line and my upload speed is around 25mbps, much higher then the 3mbps the game requires. It may be something they did to combat DDOS attacks, but it’s hurting the game in the process. They really need to look at this.

They have to look at many many many things but they don’t🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately, it visibly seems that way. Why would I care too much about mat drop rates and the other things they looked at if I can’t even time a pit? No reason to even play at the moment. Still, I will cross my fingers that, if enough people add their frustrations here, they’ll fix it.

You know what’s frustrating? That this game has lag problems since the initial release of the game… It’s just they don’t put any love in the game, they Don listen to their playerbase at all
