Lunging strike build and HOTA

Hey guys so i’ve been playing the lunging strike build but although it is the strongest build for barb this season, i find the play kinda boring. So i have incorporated HOTA with the build to first, buffing fury gain from switching weapons from the weapon master board and the 40x damage buff after overpowering. The question i have is how can i guarantee the my core skill will overpower to get thos 40x damage buff after HOTA overpowering. i wanted to be more consistent gaining the buff. I’m using moni/xan but it doesnt always guarantee that hota with warpath is actually working. Would it be better to change the rune to igni or tam with xan rune? is there any other things i can do to make sure to guarantee that HOTA will overpower?

Especially that HOTA is getting a buff of 175% for the next patch. i would probably take it alittle bit farther up the pits.

or Should i change to bash build?

Bash doesnt cleave anymore, so BLT Talisman or earthstriker aspect, and add the xan? Rune? The overpower rune. With BLT if you are using starless mythic ring, you might want lucion crown to keep the fury cost up so it doesnt take BLT forever to proc, keep in mind the damage bonus to overpower , is applied to all overpowers, not just the one proced by BLT.

You can switch LS to Bash and use it to overpower HotA. The build isn’t really that far behind LS. There is a confirmed Pit 99 clear.
Fun fact: Just a few hours ago it seems Bash + MT has taken over the Barb meta with a 107 clear ^^.

1.4x or 40%, I wish it was 40x :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Earthstriker aspect if you do weapon swapping, Banished Lords Talisman, the legendary paragon node or the glyph, but all of this is usually a massive loss of damage. Earthstriker is at least an interesting game mechanic, so if you’re ok with giving up a better aspect, this might work out for you

Bash can cleave again , if you find the shiny boots

I haven’t tried them yet so could be garbage idk :person_shrugging: :joy:

the boots are mandatory, yes. They give the old cleave temper from bash to every basic skill, add another 100% damage, passive ranks and free up the weapon slot for another bash/lunging strike/etc. temper.

Power Kick will proc BLT as long as you have enough Max Fury. This assures every HoTA is an OP. Fury recapture will ensure you can immediately HoTA right after and go into LS spam.

This is actually a cool mechanic. If the damage loss of BLT wasn’t such a nightmare, I’d probably try that.
