Low performance and high RAM usage

Hello,

I have problem with game sometimes dropping 80-100 fps and using 100% more RAM than my friends

My spec:
CPU - i9 9900KF
GPU - RX7900XT with newest drivers
RAM - 32gb @2666mhz
Windows10 on Samsung SSD 970EVO 250GB
Game on Samsung SSD 970EVO 1TB
tested with another Samsung SSD 860EVO 500GB

Friend with RX 6800 have stable 144fps and around 10gb usage of ram while i struggle to get stable 144fps and with around 15-20gb ram usage and gpu usage at 50% and cpu below 50%. We both were playing on the same gpu drivers and same in game settings.

Can’t include screenshots and links to them…

First, open the Battlenet app, go to the tab that Diablo 4 is on. Do not click Play. Click on the spoke next to it, and select modify install. Click the top item, which will bring up a panel, on this panel uncheck the box High Resolution Assets, and then do not click the cancel button, but the blue highlighted button next to it. This will uninstall the high resolution assets for the game.
Other people have reported uninstall the high resolution assets, has fixed the ram usage problem you are having.
I personally don’t recommend those High Resolution game assets, unless you have 64GB of ram in your system.

Next use a program like MSI Afterburner, and set a custom fan profile to about 65 Percent. If you don’t the Radeon RX 7900XT will operate in silent mode, where the fans will either operate at a slow speed or not at all, unless the card starts to heat up from gaming.

Last in the game itself, look at the graphic options, then at the option to enable vsync, if vsync within the game is not turn on, check the box to turn it on and save the setting.

One thing I didn’t like the game doing, was automatically downloading and installing the high resolution assets on my system when I installed the game. That was uncalled for by Blizzard, as that should be left up to the player.
