Love the game - But blizzard please. There’s some QoL issues

First of all - Love the game. The foundation is there. The graphics are amazing. The world is fantastic. The cut scenes have that blizzard polish and the story, especially the final acts, beautiful. The class building foundation is there. It’s not perfect but it will get better with seasons, updates, and patches I’m sure.

With that being said -

  • Overlay map: Again I’ll bring this up. I experienced your world. It’s beautiful but I want an overlay map. Someone mentioned that an overlay map is like staring at the GPS while driving on the highway. Well I’m not someone that stares. I glance. I did the same with my overlay maps. I open them up for a second or two, sometimes a split second, and I close them. This full map open is like pulling over on the side of the street to look at a paper map before I get back on the highway to drive. It’s awful and breaks immersion for me. Give us the option please? - To further expand on the map, yes I know I can open it and put a little waypoint on it. Well now I’m staring at my tiny minimap for a good portion of my journey blindly running past mobs and materials because all I’m looking at is the red line I’m following.

  • ̶G̶e̶m̶ ̶t̶a̶b̶ ̶-̶ ̶s̶e̶l̶f̶ ̶e̶x̶p̶l̶a̶n̶a̶t̶o̶r̶y̶ - Addressed in camp fire stream! Great fix! Gems will be like regular resources.

  • Renown - This one is big for me. The grind for renown for the 20 extra paragon points was fun. Once. If this doesn’t carry into new characters and seasons please give us a better way to farm this. I quit the other ARPG because I don’t want to redo the quest every season. I don’t want to farm this the same way every 3 months. 20 paragon points is a lot.

  • Zoom, probably a lost cause but thought I’d mention it. Let us zoom out more.

**I’ll update this as I play, but as of now that’s all I got off the top of my head. **

Level 80 as of right now. nice

—UPDATE 1—

  • More Stash Tabs - 4 is simply not enough across multiple characters. With aspects and ̶g̶e̶m̶s̶ taking up space this starts filling up quick.

  • Cheaper respec… I knew this was going to happen. I cried about it before the games release. At high levels to respec paragon is going to cost millions and millions of goldl People said “how often do you plan on respecing? I don’t plan on doing it often. Ruins the role play!” I said, “For when they release patches to nerf you build, it would be nice for free respecs or cheap respecs. Spending $60k gold per paragon point is insane.”… So what happens? Blizzard doesn’t nerf, they DISABLE two aspects - a class is dead to many for this weekend because of it with no known date on when it’ll be viable to some.

—UPDATE 2—

  • Priority stacked attributes. It’s really annoying to see strength sometimes on the bottom attribute sometimes on the top. Why isn’t strength always first, or dexterity, or whatever. Can we make it consistent?

  • Icon variety and better sorting. As well as marking chests for specific items. If I want all of my gems to automatically go into Stash Tab 1 I’d like to assign stash tab 1 to gems. That way if I open stash tab 3 and I click on my gems in inventory they automatically go into stash tab 1 as that’s what it’s been assigned for. The icon variety is for being able to tell quicker and easier what items are for what. Also tiring to constantly refer to unorganized stats and attributes to see what I want to keep and what I want to toss.

—UPDATE 3—

  • Aspects again. I think the best solution for aspects could be that the aspects can be stored AT the occultist. A seperate stash at the occultist with as much room as you want basically. It costs a lot to extract aspects and imprint but you can’t sell the damn things.

  • This is more of a balancing issue but kind of a quality of life thing as well as the game is playable and possible BUT - recourse management can be pretty lame and mostly because your basic skills do so little damage. I don’t expect basic skills to do much but it seems to just be used as a generator. On WT4 my basics are nothing but generators for resources. 1k damage just to load up resources so I can do 100k+ damage with my other skills. Someone mentioned on reddit I believe it was that it always feels like you’re waiting to do something.

—UPDATE 4—

  • Level scaling - Nothing wrong with the idea, it’s implementation is pretty broken right now though. At a certain point, and this is very noticeable to me as a WW barb that has two aspects broken now that’s trying to quickly power through as a necro alt is that the world scaling to only your level basically if you don’t get the gear for your build going early you’re going to be stuck. You will hit a wall that is gear dependent. I feel this right now a little bit on my barb as well with the aspects disabled but to try and power through it just doesn’t feel right. Every time I level up I think to myself it’s happening too quick in relation to my gear. I’m getting weaker and weaker as I level up. That is the opposite of what I should feel in an ARPG. Grinding to 100 isn’t supposed to be quick and easy but getting weaker and weaker as you do it is backwards.

—UPDATE 5—

  • PVP or general online gameplay - We need some kind of matchmaking. Thankfully I have a few friends that are still loving the game so I could usually get someone on. On those rare times that friends aren’t on though I either have to go on discord to find someone to play with or run dungeons with. This matchmaking is also an issue with PVP. Thankfully I’ve been doing alright in PVP but I’m finding more and more often when I’m solo there is a 4 man group of 100’s ready to just clap me and I’m sure this happens to other solos. I don’t mind dying in PVP, that’s supposed to be fun. But the fact that I’m running around alone and the server instance has a party of 4 100’s 25 levels above me and kill me before I even blink is not fun. Bliz mentioned they’re surprised how few people are playing PVP, this is one reason why. It’s fun to be challenged but it’s not fun to die in less than half a second. Especially with some classes being so much stronger than others with single point damage.

—UPDATE 6—

  • Renown - I know it was talked about in the campfire. BUT -
  1. Do 12 dungeons and strongholds per zone you need to do ~30 sidequests per region for full renown.
  2. Do ALL dungeons and strongholds per zone and you still need to do 10-15 side quests per region for full renown.
  • This means you’re doing 60~ sidequests, fetch quests, whatever every single season. Some seasonal events for renown would be much better. This takes me to my next point.

  • Side quests- Drop on corpse quests need to go. If we need side quests for paragon or full completion side quests being dropped on corpses suck without an exclamation point on the corpse or map itself. I’m struggling to find 4 or so quests for 100%. I picked up a few when my quests were at their limit, 20, and I’m wondering if that broke it and I can’t pick them up now.

  • Chat - Can we disable click to open chat? This doesn’t happen too often, but it’s happened enough. Accidentally clicking on the chat with mouse is annoying and almost cost me a life. Can we enable that Enter is the only way to open chat? Or just disable all UI with clicks?

—UPDATE 7—

  • Crowd Control - Late game it’s basically broken. High tier nightmare dungeons are brutal with constant CC from enemies. I understand it’s something that can be resolved with unstoppable but having a near perfect build minus unstoppable and it becomes absolutely useless because of chain CC - Not too great. There has to be some kind of fix or adjustments that can be made for this.

You’re not wrong lol. Thankfully in real life I can see more than 15ft ahead of me but in the game k can’t zoom out any further.
