Lost Ark developers apologized on stream. Would D4 devs do the same?

Lost Ark’s Emergency Livestream on July 4th was a direct apology to the player base for doing changes and making content that was vastly unliked by the community. They swallowed their pride, realized that the player is the most important person they need the support off and said “We are sorry, we were wrong!”.

I bet, if the D4 dev team even address the dissatisfied players, they would be like “Sorry, but not sorry, you are just dumb players”.

The real question is: Would you accept an apology at this point?

Oh, I’m done. I’m a Sorc main and my class is literally unplayable.

Yes if they shelved this season and started over. I don’t care about the lack of content this season will have but it needs to have game changing buffs along with quality of life we’ve been asking for.

After more than 3 years of questionable design decisions, you might add.

Give Rod and the gang few more months

No, they will tell you it takes time to polish a game (should’ve been delayed a year til it was finished)

And to go play something else and come back in a later season.

Oh they will, not now thou, they just made 660 mill. Soon , but not that soon  Blizzard will never ever do this cause they never did , what they do thou is starts to actively listen and implement what the player base thinks and likes in order to keep them interested. Some things will be dumb, some deserve to be implemented and SOME… should be in the game before release. For now they play confident ,but they surely took the route to dip their player base count hard. So soon they will realize how dumb they are and Rob definitely have to go! They should start hiring real gamers and coders with a player pov ideas and not your tunnel vision grandpa Rob who is as clueless as it gets!
To Blizzard forum police : u can ban me now , i wont ever apologize for what i said, i am even kind for the ignorance u have towards qol and social aspects of the game , i already dont care if u ban me from forums or not, sorry but i refuse to shut up and sugar coat out of fear to get banned. I prefer to get the ban ,but say the things the way i feel and see them and that is ROB IS NOT the one to lead this project , the guy have 0 vision and 0 player oriented qol ideas! cya

The only real apology would be if they actually fix the massive issues with the game. Just saying “we are sorry” is completely pointless and solves nothing.

they want because they dont think they are doing something wrong.
And its there game. if they want to make it that way its ok. we are not forced to play it.

im going to try the Season and BP tomorrow. if it sucks i stopl play. and when BG3 releases on 3.8 i also stop playing for a long time.

Apology from blizzard?

I would accept it if they do some magic and try to show us they are balancing the classes even further before the season 1 hits.

Now that’s another ball game in my eyes and i could live with that.
Dont expect anything from them at this point though.

What good is an apology? Other than making you feel better. Improving the game would be better than any apology.

It means they can swallow their pride and actually admit they were wrong and maybe… maybe… listen to the players a bit, instead of making changes nobody wanted.

Can you please give a summary what changes LA did to give an apology for? I haven’t played LA for about a year already, as it just became too grindy.
But with the direction D4 went, I might just as well switch to LA, at least I actually had fun, sorceress felt like a sorceress, not as a machine gunner with 4 different defensive skills out of 6 usable skill slots. Also much prettier.

I left Lost Ark after 3k hrs. I guess D4 will be around 200hrs. I thought D3 was bad during launch. This is no different. Maybe back in 2yr.

  • The developers apologized for the lack of communication and expressed their desire to improve in this area.
  • They acknowledged the issues raised by players and promised to provide more explanations and updates on the game’s development.
  • They promised to work towards a better combat system and ensure the quality of future raids.
  • They addressed concerns about burnout and promised to find solutions to make the game more enjoyable for players.

TLDR It wasn’t a great apology, but it wasn’t like “yeah, sorry but not sorry”, which Blizzard typically does. “You think you do, but you don’t”.

I could care less about any apology as long as they improve the game. Apologizing and not actually fixing the game is kind of pointless. Actions > words

They should apologize for making that donatehole nonsense

Yeah, indeed it looks like a standard reply, but it’s still better than Blizzard’s usual responses - as you said “you think you do, but you don’t”, but also “we’d rather you not play demo lock”, etc.

D4 had so much potential. I managed to keep my expectations/hype at reasonable levels because i was utterly disgusted with WoW at that point, including how bad Dragonflight felt, so I can confidently say it isn’t the case of me expecting unreasonably much from the game. But with the devs’ stated goal to slow down the game compared to D3 - a game I also disliked because of the 40 000% dmg increases and the “either i one-shot everything or i get one-shot by anything”, sounded great and i was excited. Little did i know how this would turn out…

Pfft you expect apologized from a company that have legendary quote like ‘Do you guys not have phones?’
