In the lost archives if you manage to complete the mechanical boxes before killing the elite guards you will lock yourself out of being able to Unlock the coffin. it will ask you to “Return the Mechanical BOX to the Pedestal: 2” even tho both boxes are on the pedestals.

I have the same problem, except my quest says “Return the Mechanical Box to the Pedestal: 1”. I ran past the first box by accident and found the box farther in the dungeon and I put it on the right-side pedestal then ran back to find the first box and put that on the left-side pedestal. Both boxes are on their pedestals. When interacting with the statue it says “The coffin remains sealed”.

When i left the dungeon and quit the game. reloaded it reset the dungeon and was able to get it finished that way.
