Loot tables for seasons

Kinda confused on this response. So if Blizzard adds Unique item A to the loot tables during a season, does eternal realm get that Unique in their loot tables also?

But then this answer is stated.

Does he mean, both eternal and season at the same time or does ‘Seasons roll’ mean when the Season rolls off?

I normally would see things like new Runewords land on ladder(tied to season) in D2 and have to wait for the season to end bore in came to main. Also saw this with items in D3, maybe it was Set items, don’t remember.

One is from the dev and one is from the community manager. I’d take the dev’s word on it.

So if I follow Joesph’s response. If they added Tal Rashas crest(totally made up) to Season 1, when S1 releases, Eternal realm would get Tal Rashes crest too?

Cause I think that’s kinda new to the concept of Seasonal content items.

My understanding is that items get added at the end of a season i.e when the season rolls over. This new information is interesting….

I wouldn’t be against the eternal realm receiving updated loot tables with each new season to keep everything in step. From a PvP perspective it would make sense (not that I think D4 should be balanced around PvP).

You are correct it shouldn’t be balanced around pvp, however PvP has to be a piece of consideration for decisions. They don’t need to fully balance classes or builds for pvp itself. But major game mechanics and abilties do Matter to PvP a lot. If you lock them solely into seasons content not only will it make a secondary market that is full of scammers, it’ll make the game fully degenerate. They need to make seasonal items drop in eternal after the season is over at the very least. If they don’t it’ll be chaos on a secondary market that shouldn’t exist.

Not until after the season ends. This has to do with season character’s being moved to eternal realm post season. So gear will appear on the eternal realm loot pool only after a season ends.

What won’t appear on the eternal realm are season based mechanics. Example lets say the season mechanics is mobs can drop blessing of Inarius after picking up ten you gain a random shrine effect. That wouldn’t be transfered to the eternal realm.

They have already stated in a developer interview that any items that can be carried into the eternal realm will be able to drop - that has never been in dispute.

The question is will they update loot tables at the same time as a new season drops, or at the end of the season.

Typically it’s always been at the end of the season…

Hah…good point about the bot thing.
Seasons creating even more problems.
Seasons will be full of bots farming at increased efficiency and RMT and selling carries (maybe) - not a lot of stuff tradable but still.
Then ppl with a lot more gear farmed from season end up ER where …it remains to be seen if maxed out chars can farm better than a seasonal character with new mechanics can (and how long it takes for the 2nd one to catch up to the first at the start of the season).

Most of the Best in slot gear in the game is going to be tradable. If blizzard is wise they’ll make the cosmetics tradeable/consumed when redeemed via item consumption. This will lead to massive increased collectibility and longevity from cosmetic items. Rewarding players

But that introduces ppl selling cosmetics for (huge) amounts of gold in against TOS fashion.

Actually I wouldn’t care…if I could farm gold (or BIS chest armor) and get (in a somewhat safe and not against TOS way) any cosmetic I’d be down for that and it would be an extra goal and would get more people buying it twice. But that is paying for power.

It should be full open trade anyway, probably.

That’s obvious, and I understand that. But the purpose of my post revolves around do see how what Joesph said makes it look like they will introduce items at the same time? Especially if you look at what was asked…

“ In #DiabloIV will non-seasonal characters being getting new content or is it just new seasons we will have to play to experience this new stuff”

“ The eternal realm and the seasonal realm will be getting the same new legendary powers and unique items with each new season roll.”

Nope didnt seem that way to me… pretty straight foward new stuff goes to eternal post season.
