Game showers you with loot. It would be nice to have a basic loot filter, like ‘hide all commons’, ‘hide all rares’, etc.
Having something like this wouldn’t be difficult to add and would make the game more efficient to run when you’re trying to do NM dungeons/hell tides/etc.
If they are going to do a loot filter I would rather a filter where we can select what affixes we want to see. The basic filter you want wouldn’t provide enough benefit.
Well at some point you don’t need rares. At least one to filter rares. Veil crystals are capped at 10k and plenty of ways to make gold other then selling rares.
The game doesn’t need loot filter, what it needs is improvement of loot
Not gear, loot… Need more sockets, jewels, advanced gems, runes, runewords, something along those sorts
Items are just fine already alone (will be better in S5), what we need is “secondary” loot (and no loot filters, don’t mask the problem, find and implement a proper solution)
Oh yeah, thx for the reminder => we need a “Sell All” button
When you see 20-30 items drop from a boss you feel like you don’t need one? NM dungeons have gotten better, but if you want to go faster and faster there is too much crap to sift through.
Game showers you with loot because these devs put “content creators” on a pedestal, worshipping them and taking every ounce of their feedback which does NOT represent me nor the Diablo community as a whole. Which is why we end up with this D3 clone wannabe. D4 is just Diablo 3.5.
D2/D2R is still the better Diablo and Path of Exile is the better follow up to the grandfather of the ARPG genre.
Anytime anyone says this it makes me wonder how much could they know about the game engine and how the systems are built. Sometimes what seems easy on the surface would require a big overhaul under the hood. Without any knowledge of how the game is coded you can’t say how easy or difficult it would be to add a feature.
I’d prefer no loot filter in the traditional sense. Its a hacky solution.
L2.0 allieved much of the need for a loot filter. Hopefully they can continue to come up with solutions that simply avoid needing a loot filter. Not completely there yet but they’ll keep working on it.
But if they introduce a loot filter they will just lean on it instead of addressing the issue in a more interesting way.
If you had asked about this pre-loot 2.0 (meaning before the current season), I’d say “Okay, sure, might be useful.” but now that we have loot 2.0? It’s not really necessary.
I really don’t understand people’s love for loot filters.
I really don’t like them.
I don’t want to be showered with so much loot that I have to go to town after every elite kill, or just leave stuff on the ground.
I don’t want to have to figure out what loot filter to configure so that I don’t accidentally filter out something that would actually be useful, or have something that would be BiS for me show as just ‘something to loot’ that I ignore because of habit.
I want to know that when something drops it is of use in some way, whether selling, salvaging, or upgrading etc… and I want to do so without having to configure something or go to an external site to figure out what the filter should be.
D4 does this quite well currently. We don’t need a loot filter, and they’ve been working on getting rid of anything that’s not legendary from the loot tables in WT4 / Uber bosses, it just needs to apply across the board. They did it in D3 with the altar of rights, and when you have that thing maxed out the games quality of life is so far beyond any other ARPG i’ve played.
At the moment, when stuff drops, I either salvage if it provides an aspect upgrade, or sell it if it’s no GA.
Then I manually look at the GA items to see if it could be an upgrade or useful in another build/class. This is how it should be.
Yeah, a loot filter should be by slot and with the ability to make requirements all the way from a single affix up to all three. No point in having a loot filter if it’s still going to suck.
I never understand the pushback against a filter. Just don’t use one if you feel it’s not needed.
Because Blizz in their infinite wisdom uses the same basic colours for everything like in D2. No we don’t want rares but it would be nice to still see mind cages etc without needing to see all the rares.
