Loot filter needed now

Since gearing is going to be much more gradual, especially during the leveling process – which will be elongated – we’re going to need a loot filter. There’s no way around this now.

For me, the biggest drawback of this game has always been having to scan through all the different rares. I dread going back to town with a bag full of rares so much that at certain points, I just end up quitting right then and there.

This has to be addressed if they’re going in the current direction.

D4 honestly doesn’t need a loot filter - we have smart loot built in and yes, it is pretty smart for today’s standard lol.

You only really need loot filter if your game designed loot is bloated with affixes and drops which you can get involves around literally everything. The yes you need a loot filter - looking at you LE lol…

But that to me is already a design flaw. Not to everyone, I meant to me that is.

agreed. I mean its really not much we are looking at here in d4.

Now, i wont go mad if they decided to ever add one, great for the people that asked for it i guess, but as of now the devs kept saying that they dont want to implement a loot filter.

asking never hurts of course, but dont get your hopes up for it.

Honestly, loot filter in this game when 99% of the loot is bad… You would only get 1 item or 2 every 6 hours xD

They better fix loot first. Make sub-groups of items (not everything non-unique needs to be Temperable)

And I still find it hard why anyone would need a loot filter (especially cause after a while you only need GA loot which is obvious from the get-go)

If only they would stop creating overworld content that locks us to a specific spot killing bosses over and over that litter the ground with loot.

Until then I will continue to advocate for a loot filter.

Loot filter? We don’t need a loot filter…

The dev already stated on Campfire it’s not on their priority list of things. They didn’t rule it out. Just a slim chance we’ll see it anytime soon. Now, in my opinion, if the gear still had season 1-3 stats on it, I definitely would agree we need a loot filter. However, when they did the gear update in S4, it so easy to quickly skim through the gear now to know if gear is any good or not; there is not that many stats options to choose from, as they stripped it down drastically. They removed so many conditional stats from the original gear system.

Loot filter is even more unnecessary in s8 since we’re getting less items. All you need to know is what stats to look for in each slot and keep that same stat structure the same throughout your leveling experience.

Since 2000 and even now I still open D2R, never once even thought of a loot filter. Then again, they now how to do loot, how to create a tier of items that had purpose. They even made the colors white, blue, and yellow of value.

Problem D4 made is self inflicted wound born out of arrogance. They thought they could do better. They have not. What we get is a rush to level 60, then a flooding of the same objects over and over. Biggest pain for me is the need to haul legendaries to salvage for the aspect. With the game condensed to these seasons, the need to do this is all the more important, I can not just take my time.

A filter to show me if an item as an aspect that would be an upgrade would be nice. But the loot itself is nothing but just RNG upon RNG. Is it going to filter for specific affix I want? In the end this game’s entire item collection is just bland. I can get more excited about seeing a gray superior dusk shroud in D2 than I can for anything in this game.

I’m really okay with that though. I would much rather that be the case than to have to scan through all the items again in my inventory with my eyes glazing over on day two of trying to get to level 60.

This could be a massive problem.

That would be pretty nice. Although I don’t think a filter is needed for that. There can be something done like a marker on the item nameplate (sorta like the greater affixes) that lets you know if there’s an upgraded aspect.

I really don’t understand players who say “we don’t need a loot filter”.
Are you really enjoying spending so much time inspecting each loot, knowing 99% is trash ?

I’m asking here out of pure curiosity, no offense intended ^^

So much time???
I pick up only * marked items, and from certain stage, i would only bother for 2* ou 3*
It doesn’t take any time at all…

So we don’t need any loot filter…

Maybe “you” but personnally, i need one.

To all you people so easily skimming gear how are you handling seasonal boss mechanics or helltide maiden when there is so much crap on the ground that it prevents new things from showing and then if you take a minute to sort through it run to the side to throw it down off screen the group is already fighting the next boss without you.

And not caring or missing out on a round to run to town are no valid answers when we could easily filter out the crap if their was a proper filter.

TP to another region.
A lot of the gear will automatically dissapear when you get back to the boss or helltide.

Yes it is a valid answer, because that’s what dev’s want, for the players to keep going back and forth to town to sell / recycle gear…

So a loot filter won’t happen, because we are doing exactly what the dev’s want us to do. With a loot filter we won’t do what they want us to do.
Got it?

  1. Diablo 4 definitely needs a loot filter.

  2. You should be able to set a threshold where everything below it automatically gets salvaged by your pet. For instance, you could set it so that all non-ancestral gear gets automatically salvaged by your pet.

If they ever do a loot filter, they SHOULD add the option to salvage OR sell.
I won’t salvage gear all the time, you know???

Yeah, I agree. Sorry, I didn’t include that. Of course, there should be an option for selling. Maybe even include an option where items above a certain threshold are added to a tab in your stash. I could go for that as well.
