Loot Filter Funtion?

So many people want a loot filter, but what kind of function does it have? Do you set parameters of what you want to drop, or does everything still drop the same and just doesn’t show when you “alt” to view items that are on the ground?

Peronally, I would like there to be an option to stop teleporting non-GA affix items to my stash everytime I leave a zone or dungeon. I don’t pick them up anymore because I don’t want them - not because I accidentally missed it.

Better would be an option where if it were a non-GA that WOULD have dropped, it instead just doesn’t drop at all. Either that or automatically salvages.

This. You set your own parameters and only see those items drop on the ground. Now you can still set it to show everything, but highlight the ones you do want easier. For example making the names of the items on the ground a different color, bolded font, different sound when dropped, etc. You can also typically set a toggle button to turn on and off your filter at will.

That would be nice, would need a toggle of course for when you want this to occur, but I think the reason almost any game doesn’t do this is for the simple fact that you would see a lot of less loot in this case. We’re talking about going through a NMD, Helltide, Pit, etc. with literally nothing dropping.

I would be fine with running whatever and not seeing loot drop. Im all for less but better drops and if a loot filter can do that sign me up lol. There’s just way too much at the moment

It wouldn’t bother me if they added this but my ocd pretty much screeches if I don’t pick up every single item, teleport to town, crush or sell it all, then go back and pick up every bit of the overflow. Sometimes I let a white or a blue go just because, like, what the hell is a single leather scrap or 5k gold, but yellows and up nope gotta grab all of it otherwise why am I even playing.

I do concede it is annoying though and a filter would probably help a lot of people even if it wouldn’t fix my personal issues. Doesn’t d3 let you crush items in your inventory without tping to the blacksmith? That feels like something really basic that should totally exist regardless.

Also, why no sell all? The blacksmith lets me, say, crush all yellows at once, why can I not elect to sell all yellows in one click?

I’m at the stage where 99% of drops are useless, so I’d rather have some auto salvage options.

The loot filter is beyond the reach of D4 developers. Don’t demand such things from them.

I think the general understanding is that when you filter out items, they drops as salvage mats instead.

honestly, i doubt a loot filter would do any good. How many people still wonder that they cant disenchant something, while the item is marked as favorite? How many people took a year + to learn that you can change aspects on legendary items? How many people dont bother to read any kind of explanation, just to be absolutely clueless later on? The list goes on.

A bit harsh but possibly spot on lol!!

based post im all for it. too bad the 5% wont agree n they usually cry bout life being too good cuz their lives r too good.
loot filter is a W

Add to that the “drop less items” argument.

The forums would be flooded with “I can’t find any ASPECTS!!!1!”.

“Turn off loot filter until you have Aspects you need” copy paste reply.
Or
“Y’all asked for less loot dropping…”

It’s funny how it’s not a problem until it’s a problem.
Leveling a character and getting a build online - not enough loot drops because everything could be either a wearable upgrade or Aspect upgrade.

Build comes online and…:sob:

Imo slightly more Quality(Ancestral) & slightly less Quantity(Legendary Generic)
We’ll be all good.

exactly, thats what i see happening if we had a loot filter for sure. We both know that would happen haha.

like someone said feature to toggle it ain’t that tough

that sounds nice too

But at the same time nonga aspects dont drop the higher quality aspect. I think it would be fine but people are going to cry because D4 playerbase needs instant gratification or D4=bad. This mindset of instant gratification is why the game is such $hit and loot is oversimplified to the point it might be simpler than a mobile game.

I did this proposal for a basic lootfilter a few weeks ago:

Many of the common request are covered, but intentionally not a feature for watching specific affixes.

I don’t ask for a Poe/Last Epoch advanced loot filter. I’d just like to only display stuff with :

  • x GA (2 minimum, for exemple)
  • Specific aspects
  • Specific stats (CC + Intl, for ex.) but ok if not possible on this one.

And everything which isn’t part of the filter would be automatically salvaged.

Basic but really helpful and would be much appreciated.
