So I just finished Act III. Thanks to heavy exploration to complete the first three renown ranks for those acts I’m already level 50. Almost halfway through it in fact, and I haven’t even started the fourth act. I’m starting to really see the scaling outpace the gear I’ve been using since like 42. Is there something I can farm to get back to a comfortable spot damage wise so I can finish the campaign or am I just going to have to slog through it and hope I can finish it as is?
Nope…not really…j/k…
If you want to stay in WT2, go farm orange circles and abuse Occultist until you get good upgrades…
Or move up to WT3…
It’s the only way…
Play your way got shafted with the Level Locking by Blizz…
That’s the thing. I’m in Tier 1 right now and even there trash is starting to require work to put down. I’m not struggling to the point where I absolutely can’t kill things but near the end of Act III things suddenly got more difficult. I want to make sure I can complete the story without running into a situation where I’m just zerging things hoping to get lucky. That is by no means fun.
Goto WT2…
Orange circles, abuse Occultist for gear/aspects…
Or plow straight to WT3…
Blizz’s level lock and mobs sticking to your level only makes it harder…
It’s why 85% rushed, they can’t handle it being hard, aka a slog…
FYI JMO…
They can pound sand for all I care…
I’m playing my way…
Lv57 WT2 on Act 3…
Hi, mobs in WT2 wont scale past lv 50. Same as mobs in WT3 past lv 70.
And them and us are all perfectly fine with that, enjoy!
The worry I have with that is how WT2 gives them more health. If I’m having to work now in WT1 I’m really going to be hurting in WT2. Is the loot better in WT2? If it is I might at least try to do the last two acts there.
Oh, I assumed you are already in WT2, sorry. No, not all, there is no noticable difference between WT1 and 2 when it comes to loot. Feel free to farm WT1 to your heart’s content! ![]()
Find an Orange Circle World event you can master, then stand there doing it every 15 min until full on Obels…
Abuse Occultist for upgrades/aspect to use…
Tweak gear…
You’ll get some more power that way…
Then slog on until stuck, rinse repeat…
It’s what I did…
Drop to WT1. If for some reason you still can’t get it and you’re close to 50, then just gain some more levels. Everything in WT 1/2 is capped at 50 so you’ll outlevel it eventually.
I’ve been trying to do that. Noticed very early on Obels is a good way to net some good rares and legendaries. Problem is all I’ve gotten lately is " upgrades " that have all the wrong stats. I’m built around exploiting damage to cc/chilled/slow and frozen. Everything but those are showing up. Or they do show up like in one line but the other lines are nothing but useless stats I’m not built for. Things like damage reduction or skills I don’t use.
I think the rest of the campaign will be at level 50 now for you, so if you just keep playing that story or whatever, you’re now going to be getting more powerful than the rest of the Tier I/II content so it should be getting easier. The gear drops will be limited to level 50 drops, but if you have level 37 gear then you should still be getting upgrades. So, from both those effects the rest of the story should be very easy to complete, at which point you can do the Capstone dungeon to unlock Tier III and further progression past level 50.
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong on any details (haven’t actually hit 50 yet because I got bored or stuck on all my characters).
Yep, nothing will scale past 50 till he enters WT3. His XP gain will eventually fall off to 0 as he will be outleveling mobs. So yeah, you can twink WT2 as you want.
Nope, you’re exactly correct. Nothing in WT 2 (except maybe some bosses) will be higher than 50.
I’m about to start IV. Started doing that exploring thing to do what I always do, get the three renown tiers before doing the campaign stuff. I usually just do the strongholds and some dungeons. It’s enough to get me there. Definitely don’t want to see the slog that’ll be getting the fourth and fifth renown tiers in each area.
You’re gonna kick yourself lol. You get the horse literally right as you start act 4 which makes exploring a lot easier.
Though you do get more exp exploring on the ground.
It’s horse time for you at least.
The game does have gear issues when you run around and do XP gaining activities with low chances of gear upgrades dropping. You end up getting beaten up by scaling because it is balanced assuming you do everything possible with all the game’s systems to keep your gear level as high as possible. It doesn’t really admit the existence of anyone more casual than that.
I don’t really get that lol. I was playing druid which isn’t supposed to be particularly great early on… and I baaarely upgraded any of my gear for the entire campaign and did fine, albeit on WT1. And I didn’t fully understand how weapons scaled at the time so I didn’t even upgrade my weapon for like 20 levels… I was playing kind of a goofy companion/tornado build even but I dunno… Maybe druids are just that strong. ![]()
I’ve been steadily upgrading since early on, as soon as I had the materials and funds to do it. I have almost full legendary with all of it either one away from maxed or maxed. I’m not struggling to the point that I can’t kill things I was just worried Acts IV and V would scale far beyond where I’m sitting now. The sudden spike near the end of III spooked me. lol
Was that Altharos or whatever? Some of the bosses/areas are harder than others. For example… there’s an area in hell where the mobs are super dense and all drop these one-shot aoe’s that I died at a few times before I realized it was easier just to run by them lol. Not every area is created equal.
