Locking Builds Behind Uniques From T1 Bosses

Making all builds rely on specific uniques to work then locking those uniques behind T1 bosses you have to grind your behind off now just to achieve is moronic. Only Blizzard could come up with this level of tedious logic. If I can’t get my build “online” until I can kill T1 bosses which are now way harder to achieve what are you trying to incentive? Pain? This is not fun, it feels terrible.

Uniques can drop elsewhere also. It’s just the ladder bosses are more predictably frequent places to farm them.

Last season the best Starfall Coronet I got, the one with the lowest cooldown, was in the pit of all places. I never get anything useful in the pit.

you don’t need a unique to kill a t1 boss. many builds need uniques to shine in any arpg. this isn’t a thing unique to Blizzard. there are leveling build guides you could use until you get the unique you want. I am assuming you are following an endgame guide by what you are saying.

He’s not entirely wrong tho, there are build enabling uniques and the supported skills are useless without them.

You can’t play fireball unless you have the gloves of illuminator, boulder if you don’t have the dolmen stone etc.

Uniques can drop from any difficulty. Also, you can gamble them (again).

Uniques were not able to be gambled in S7 so unless they changed something, that’s wrong.

They changed it (again).

Yes that’s true, t1 bosses can drop them too.

All I say it’s kinda stupid you can’t pick your favourite skill early levels and stick to it because some skills needs one specific unique so you need to play with another skill till you get it.

There are lots of builds strong enough to smash T1 without uniques, just using Aspects many of which can be unlocked just by doing normal dungeons. Builds which rely on uniques are endgame builds.

You could always try putting a build together based on what you actually do find rather than setting your heart on a specific endgame build setup early on. That’s what I have been doing and it’s fun. YMMV of course.

Literally no item is locked behind T1 bosses, or even T1 at all. You can find uniques pre-torment and from anywhere.

Yes, they allow you to target farm if that’s what you need, but you don’t need to. You can do any of the other activities and still get stronger in ways other than uniques, during which you might get lucky and not need to farm bosses.

There are other ways to target farm - which Helltide chests you unlock, which Whisper Caches you choose, and of course Undercity with the right item type boosted can be pretty decent odds depending what it is you need.

If you’re enjoying killing bosses, great! If not, go do something else and just kill bosses occasionally.

i covered that. some builds need uniques to shine. use a different build and switch when you get it if you need. this really isn’t a problem.

It just means the base skill is useless.

Uniques should transform and empower abilities, not letting you use it.

This is a diablo thing, didn’t see it in any other arpg. Play your way right

that’s exactly what uniques do. you can use fireball without the gloves. you can probably beat the t1 bosses with it. it won’t be amazing. it might not be the best option before getting the item. it can be done, though.

this is something typical of any arpg. uniques can make something build defining. it’s often a gearing goal. play POE. LE. Grim dawn. Wolcen. whatever. they all have build defining uniques. that doesn’t mean you can’t function before getting them.

Welcome to ARPGs, where … yes, builds are locked behind specific items.

Happened/Happening in D2, in D3, in PoE, PoE 2, Grim Dawn, etc.

I am blown up by people DEMANDING things ASAP while on the other hand they cry that things gets too easy.
