Loading Screen Stuck after patch

Ive been playing with zero issues. Since the patch today, now after i select my character at select screen, it freezes on the loadup screen. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this issue? ive updated drivers. Ive repaired the game, and nothing works

I get the same, but I don’t get to see my select character. It freezes before and have to restart.

Yeah, had this issues as well. Logged in after the patch and got into the game fine but teleported to a different city and the game locked up on the splash screen. Got a disconnected from server message and was sent to the character select screen and came back in. Took a while to finally get back into the game but so far no issues after this initial one.

I’m also having this, I can’t get into the game since the patch. It’s freezing on the loading screen after the character select.
I’ve been playing most of the day with no problems before this patch.

Ya, I am having the same issues as well. I have tried as much as I can but still nothing.

So situation update. its working now, but its slower loading after teleproting

Same situation. I even managed to get to the game after a couple minutes loading. But couldn’t do absolutely anything, the connection is completely frozen. Playing from EU, btw.

I used their tool to check for connectivity issues, and yup, I just can’t seem to connect to their servers, even though my internet is working normally.

It looks like their servers are completely overloaded… The curious, though, is that when I have the game open, on this “trying to connect” state, it literally hogs all my bandwidth and I can’t load anything else until I close the game.

Tried running WinMTR to connect to the EU server (35.240.124.178):

I don’t know any of the super technical stuff, but I do know that I haven’t been able to get past the loading screen after I select my character.

It’s been like this since Season 5 update. I’ve got a game I’ve paid for and I can’t play, and I haven yet to see a single blue post addressing this issue.

I remember this being an issue in prior patches. Just happened to me, again. Settings > Connect > UNCHECK cross-network play and cross-network comms … was able to load in immediately.

Did this for me too. Had to open Task Manager and end the game that way. Once I opened it again it worked fine the 2nd time.

Took 3 attempts to even get into the game.
Then I just connected and as soon as I got to my first enemy encounter outside of town the game crashed.

Like…why

Update: Attempt 4 I’m finally in.

This update is wild.

Same issue. 5 dead freezes (need to close game with task manager and open it again) during 1 hour, mailny on load screens. Cross-platform off (with cross-platform on just impossible to play because of freezes and disconnects, but was ok before patch at least with cross-platform off). PC user (laptop).
Thank you Blizzard! And thank you for one 2 ga item with useless stats as compensation for 60 aeth chest broken for a week.

It’s impossible to log in 99% of the time and reach a town without the game freezing. If it does reach town, it freezes when opening inventory or trying to teleport to another town.

Same here - totally effed up the game. Mine is hanging on the screen right after selecting my character.

Same! I’m currently sitting on the loading screen after TPing. Earlier, the game froze when I opened my inventory while waiting for the maiden in Helltides. I missed out on the fight because I had to force-quit the game and restart. My computer is better than minimum requirements (but not high end) and I have the fastest internet speed offered. This is disappointing to say the least.

Same for me - stuck after selecting my character and hitting “Enter” to start game. Sits on black screen for a while then transitions to loading screen and stuck there…

Update: Got in after a long time on the loading screen only to see “Reconnecting to Diablo IV” in the top left hand corner of my screen.

sigh yeah, just patched and tried to log in myself. Got to char select, chose char and just black screen.

Exact same thing here. ANy fixes yet or just wait for Blizz to patch again.

It’s not on your end. It’s a Diablo prolem as a lot of us are experiencing as well. Between rubberbanding and lag, etc, this game should have never been released. Its still a Beta game. My advice is to wait for POE 2 to release and be done with this crap fest that the majority of us paid a lot of money for in the hopes the game would be good…it’s anything but good.
