Lilith insta-kill and bug

So Lilith in her second phase will drop the floor underneath you. This is a guaranteed death if your there when the floor falls. There’s also a bug where I skipped the cut scene and started fighting lilith but my friend was stuck in the cut scene while Lilith was fighting me. My friend started taking damage from her and i was trying to protect him which lead to phase 2 where the floor dropped and killed both of us in the confusion. Pretty rude way to get killed at level 50+ TBH

Yeah just lost my lvl 51 Druid to the floor drop. Kinda hate that the floor crumbling away all on the way to the boss is just visual then you get hoodwinked when it happens in the boss fight.

dude just played 40 hours hc for the floor to randomly drop and insta die. super super lame fix that. horrendous experience at the end of a long journey…

Welcome to hardcore!

A (end)boss mechanic where some parts of the floor are getting destroyed and you get visual and audio warnings is something you can die … correct… and when playing HARDCORE you only die once with a character. Correct too.

So where is the problem?

If I am killed by an exploding barrel next to me - is that bad game design? Or is it me being a bit dumb - not observing my area good enough like when the floor is getting dropped.

Yeah, got killed to. The reason why this is a real problem Wehwehchen is, that no one expect that. To this point, in hole campagne, there is no insta death attack. So why should we expect that now?
Also lame is, that the cheat death potion doesn´t work ether.
So yeah. After all the battles, dying to something that never was an issue, and in the final battle too, is frustrating and unfair.

Because of that i had stopping the game. Tbh, the story was the only reason to play it. And do this hole, leap there, take this to that, oh by the way - turn back and talk to him who now is talkable chenanigans. No sir, no fun at all.

Boss fights for those that skip cutscenes while other party members are in the cutscenes literally dying, aren’t bugs. That absolute garbage game dev. Can’t believe I paid $100 for this garbage.

Yaa lost quite a few char on hardcore this is the first time ever just feeling lousy about it. No warning other then a bit of red floor. Wanted my first playthrough to be on hardcore. Never seen anything that uncleare as instant death. Feels bad dont care people say welcome to hardcore lost 100 of char to hardcore, this one is the first that just feels stupid. (appart from the one where my keyboard died
Probley easy to avoid floor once you know the mecanic. First time seeing standing in bubble from legendary thought I would be fine.

Meeh am with the ones who claim bad design. Also as I said probley easy to avoid once you seen the mecanic.

The floor glows, cracks, and practically screeches at you to give one of the most obvious warnings in a game that I’ve ever seen that it’s about to break. If you’re still dumb enough to die to that then it sucks to suck.

I am not good at reading mobs behavior and game mechanics, so when I first heard I about the dropping floor part, I was worried because I thought I might simply miss the indications when and where it’s about to happen. But I mean it’s so clear and stays there for like 5 seconds, and is pretty scary. Why would you stand in something like that when you don’t know what it means, there was the lament bubble part, also various meteors falling from the sky and big chaining explosions or poisonous clouds. It’s not like they bait you at 0.1% of her life so you try to finish her off quickly, it starts happening early on.

No excuse to be mad about that, it’s the clearest game mechanics in the history of games probably.

Speaking of bubble… is NOT standing in the templar’s bubble at end of act1 also an instant kill? Seems like it would be but I didn’t want to test lol

Yes that’s what I meant. My point was there was some nasty heavy hitting effects during the campaign. Technically its just a huge DoT, a big portion of your life is yellow/green, and it drains insanely fast. You are also given some time to look for cover, which is the floor turning red, and then to me feels like 3 second timer starts before you are infected.

Yeah the falling floor got me too. I saw it happen a couple of times during the fight, but didn’t think it was something that I could -actually- stand on when it disappeared, more like the environment shrinking, not an insta death. As I don’t think in any Diablo game before this one, or during this one, had any mechanic where the environment would instantly kill you, no getting knocked off cliffs when bosses or mobs pushed you, or anything of that nature, so I just -really- didn’t think it was possible as you can’t just walk off cliffs or anything like that, or even walk off the stage -after- it crumbles.

So when Lilith was down to 1/3 of the final segment of her life (like less than an inch of life) the floor thing started happening again and I was just trying to push it for her to die, literally seconds away, but then when the floor fell and I didn’t get booped over and instead died, even though deaths defiance elixir was active (which I’ve never actually had trigger so I was really confused when I was just dead, thought that it was bugged or something) was a bit of a surprise.

But… you know that’s hardcore  I wanted the experience of playing Veteran, first run of game, on Hardcore, with no Lilith statues or stash bonus, gems, gold, etc. to help out.

Got so close but can’t claim I did it under those circumstances and short of intentionally not using all the gold/materials/items/level up boosts, I can’t recreate the situation short of creating a new Battlenet Account

Such is life. Guess I gotta do it again after I’m done crying about it T_T

Maybe they should do like in Diablo 3: when one of the party skipped the cinematic, it will skip for all the party

I don’t understand why they took away all the good features Diablo 3 had.
No pet to pick the money…
No direct tp to other players, instead you have to tp to town…
No sound when a friend whispers you…

Really, what a mess
