She did not care about Rathma all she wanted was the key to hell. He was opposed to both his mother and father; he did like them. It is very well spelled out in the lore.
Even more the reason she’s a crazy mfer.

But the angel did absolutely nothing to help you when you asked. No other angels came down to stop her. No one did anything. She was the only one trying to do anything. Everyone just wants to keep the status quo. “Dont rock the boat” even though the boat is sinking.
Lilith wanted to protect Sanctuary. She was evil and did some messed up things, ok.
Inarius’ entire character was him being self-absorbed and doing whatever it took to get revenge and try and be accepted back into heaven for the angels that did not want anything to do with him. He didn’t give a damn about anyone other than himself; on top of only doing something at the very end after you’d done all of the work for him. To add another layer on, he did not give a damn about sanctuary whatsoever, and directly stated that it would be better if it did not exist.
The “good” side did more to be antagonists than the devils themselves did.
I think it’s pretty obvious that Lilith’s warning about something worse to come is intended to be legit and that she was probably the lesser evil in comparison.
Assumptions are being made about Lilith. She can detect us when we use the eye, but has no idea we can see her in the petals she leaves behind? We can trust her words at face value? We see all sides of her plan? The plan is a good plan? The plan can even succeed?
Not to mention that our PC has a fairly strong personal motivation to end her, what with the attempted sacrifice of us that kicked off our adventure. You don’t forgive that in the couple of weeks that the campaign seems to take. “Oh! Terribly sorry, you only tried to murder me last week for the greater good! Easy misunderstanding that. I mean, between the horns and the wings and the cultists feeding me your blood as a poison, after all. Do carry on! And best of luck, those angels can be royal pricks, too.”
And then the assumption that she would have been successful in her plan. Or maybe she absorbs a prime evil, the balance of power is thrown off, heaven immediately wins the eternal conflict, and now its just Lilith and Sanctuary against the angels. Angels who fear the humans for their potential to join either side, the only remaining potential enemy, and who are possibly controlled by a demon with the power of a prime evil. The status quo sucks, but upsetting the balance of power between two forces who have the desire and ability to erase humanity?
The plan isn’t great, even if it is well-intended after all. Neither angels nor demons are allies to humanity in this world. Humanity has only itself in a universe of conflict.
At least Mephisto was a less immediate threat when we helped him, and it backfired pretty spectaculary for him as well. Using a soulstone. That we went to great lengths to attune. To… Someone else. So I guess that’ll blow up in our faces before long. He did a really good job of planting the seed of betrayal in us, and handing himself over on a silver platter. “It would be absolutely terrible if you were to plunge that stone you have there into my forehead. Right… There… Its so close! But you’re so weak and pathetic. You’ll never beat Lilith. Good thing she isn’t anywhere in sight in my realm. Why, I’d be powerless to keep her away from this place long enough for you to make your decision.” He was going to escape whether we beat Lilith or not. We were a hero and our companion was a child. She was getting sent away first no matter what.
Lilith was at best a well meaning fool. Not even a lesser evil. She is going to eat Mephisto with the help of his own lietenant, guardian of the cathedral of hatred, betraying his master on a whim? He laughed at Lilith for wanting to go there. She was never any threat, possibly because we were already a tool of Mephisto. He knew our strength, as we had crushed Asraroth in battle just days before. Mephisto played us like a fiddle and won his get out of jail early card. He is back in Sanctuary without the notice of the high heavens.
If Lilith had won everyone would have lost fairly immediately. But we didn’t win either.
I think it’s great storytelling though. We fight against lilith because we cast spells when we left click her instead of speaking while generally empathizing with her and walking face first into the much greater threats trap without any trace of notice. Because he is a nice doggy who helped us once or twice.
She introduces free will.
Would you rather be a robot with no autonomy?
The lore is above your comprehension; clearly.
LOL lilith did everthing wrong.
The core philosophy of Liliths motives were “I love you all and i gave you free will!” Which on its surface sounds great until you start reading into the rest of her motive. “I gave you free will!..to use exactly how I think is best and if you dont want to then you are wrong.”
Lilith saw humanity as her children, and a weapon to use to end the eternal conflict. Inarius saw humanity as a burden and a tool to get him back into heaven.
More or less, Lilith and Inarius were in the middle of a WWE cage matchn and humanity was the steel chair. Inarius just wanted to use it to jump off of to drop the atomic elbow into Lilith.
Lilith just wanted to use the Steel chair to smack the refs.
The only difference is, Lilith wanted to write her name of the chair and put a little heart emoji on it before she did.
The problem with this logic and lilith is, yes she introduced free will, but she only approves of how humanity uses that free will if its the way SHE thinks it should be used.
If she really cared about humanity and their free will she would let them use that free will to what ever extent that may be even if it leads them to ruin it was still their free choice to do so.
Lilith is the illusion of freedom, “You are a free to do as you will, so long as that will is mine.”
My Eternal HC Sorc is the main character of Diablo, she has clicked on zero Lilith Alters. Takes crap from no one, and does what she wants. She also did not burn anything at the gate.
Diablo4 has been the most fun we have ever had with Diablo
Lilith is just a tool for entertaining Sus and I, just like the rest of the game’s npcs.
All the other responses where respectful and interesting but there always has to be one edgelord that feels being nasty equates superiority. Hint, it does not.
Good point lol. And so is everyone else’s. I mean, maybe Im Just jaded and can’t see the possible good in her.
Lillith seems to do her job as Sucubus verry good
"User with this ability either is or can transform into a [succubus] (plural: succubi, derived from Late Latin succuba or succubare; “to lie beneath” sub- “under” and cubare “to lie”), a female demon or supernatural entity, in female form, who in known traditions that appears in dreams to seduce men, usually through sexual activity.
Users with this power gain usually boosted strength, speed, supernatural level of beauty and some magical abilities, especially dealing with illusions and mental manipulation. Physical changes include fangs, claws, pointed tail and wings."
mental manipulation is the key here
she is trying to manipulate us

The only person not acting like a complete tool is Lilith.
The angel never did anything and refused to help then had identity issues.
The head priest was a zealot that killed her own men for “atonement”
All lillith is going to do is turn the entire sanctuary into hell spawns…Yea okay, help you says? Mother complex much?
Kulle did nothing wrong.
Lilith brought death and misery wherever she went.
The thing is I actually understand Lilith better than I do Inarius. And that’s always the way, isn’t it? “God works in mysterious ways” but “the Devil’s in the details.”
Just look at AI. We have created the thing that sci-fi has been warning us about for centuries. And maybe it’s okay? I mean, all it’s doing right now is pissing off artists and legislators. But I think the big question is, what happens to the worms when we can’t fit them back in the can?
Or worse, what happens when the worms become empowered?
That’s the kind of scary questions I could see myself asking if I were in Lilith’s position.
True power doesn’t come from creation though. True power comes from destruction. And actions speak louder than words. Lilith talks a talk, but when it comes to walking the walk? She tries to end us, more than once, just because we disagree with her stated goals. The ultimate motivator is power for her.
Inarius though. He’s like a giant question mark. He wants to get back into heaven, where he belongs, but what even IS the angiris council? What are their laws and why do they follow them? Why does he belong there? Just because he’s an angel?
Logically , barring the fact she may of been lying, she was the correct option I believe. I was saddened with her by the choice that was made and understand her anger/disappointment/resentment( outwardly expressed sadness) for us doing so.
Funny enough… Actually listening to Mephisto would have been the correct option.
Follow his instructions and Lilith would be locked away in hell and that was the end of it. Instead we for some dumb reason let Nyrelle just transfer Mephisto into sanctuary.
Did you completely miss the part where she stuck a soulstone in an innocent kid’s skull to appease a demon, or casually watched wolves rip a man apart while having a conversation about converting the world?

You’re definitely self projecting here. I’m just not gullible enough to think she’s the bad guy just because she has wings and horns. In the world of Sanctuary, she’s easily the least evil, and by a ton.
Inarius is honestly even worse than the prime evils.
This, we pretty much have to pic between 3 evils and she is the least worse option honestly.

Nah, y’all definitely weak af.
Lilith was absolutely the most straight forward in wanting to destroy everything. She in a sense was pure anarchy. So if you believe she wanted to just let everyone be happy, look at what she did in the first act, she literally empowered everyone to their desires. She had no moral compass after losing her son.
she does not want to destroy all, she multiple times referrs to a bigger problem coming, and while i do agree she sacrafices many lifes from her perspective its the life of “muggles” with diluted blood who where purposefully diluted by Inarius to have it easier to kill them all in an attempt to buy back his place in haven. And in her greater vision those “muggles” would not survive the upcoming issues anyway so why care about them?
