The barbarian deserves an unique two handed mace, something like thor´s hammer, triggering lightning bolts, lightning damage, etc.
No. It’s a physical class and I hate that we’re doing more and more “spell casting” type stuff like Fire and Earthquakes and Twisters and now you want Lightning…
Uff… nah, gimme a 2hander Mace, when it hits a monster, it caves in their head, and you see brains splatter all over the place and the mob just crumbled to the ground from the force of the blow (rag doll physics? to small degree).
Physical combat and the mob models should respond accordingly when taking damage. That’s where it’s at with the Barbarians. D4 is going the wrong direction (again) with all the “spell-casting” crap they are now making Barbarian use.
Or at least keep the effects relevant to the class. Like slamming down your hammer creating a shockwave that stuns, knocks down, damages enemies but keep the focus on the skill itself.
For instante, hellhamer gives you fire damage. I know the barbarian is a physical warrior, but sometimes i need more build options.
Really easy way to solve this is having Damage Conversion formulas. Grim Dawn does this seamlessly. Hellhammer can deal Fire Damage but have an innate Affix that converts Fire Damage to Physical Damage. Immediately, this makes anything Fire related very good as it scales off Physical Damage now while retaining the unique Fire damage effects.
