Leveling to 60 feels awful

I have been playing since release but leveling never felt so boring… it is just such a chore to do this every single season with no gameplay changes at all (things are basically the same with very slight and insignificant changes/reskins).

I’m trying to get to the endgame with a WW barb and I am currenly level 52 and seriously it’s hard for me to find motivation for the last 8 levels. It is so BAD. I think I might just quit at level 52…

I think Blizzard need to consider some serious changes to the leveling process if they want to keep the feeling fresh, right now this is a disaster.

Do you guys share the same feeling or is it just me? I think the current state of the game may be the worst since release. Nothing really makes sense anymore, it is the same thing over and over again every couple of months.

I think that’s your problem, sadly Blizzard still thinks barbarian is the only class that needs to actually use a builder. I started a druid and never had resource generation problems, early game felt really good.

WW always feels awful early when leveling I did the same from lvl 1 to 60 but I just ran incursions from lvl 1 to 60. I haven’t used another build yet and I’m farming T4.

Yea using lunging strike early to WW for second is a problem lol

I’ve leveled two toons this season and my opinion leveling is in a good spot as in better than last season.

Now I feel they need to iron out item progression as in return excitement into loot and not legendary or ancestral earlier, or build specific aspects… Grind is what this is about I just want to more frequently find better items, not build defining items.

Sorry that 6-8 hours is to much for you to play.

If you dont want a journy you could always play eternal.

I literally don’t know what you want out of Diablo. This pace is so improved over last season. There’s not that much different - gameplay-wise - at endgame v leveling.
I think y’all got too used to going to Witchtides and letting everyone carry you while you hoovered up loot. Now that you actually have to play, you’re finding you don’t like the game.

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe the main issue is that I am leveling a WW barb… it feels really weak and makes the process to endgame kinda like a chore. I read about all the buffs to WW and thought it might be fun this time but is not lol. Maybe the endgame is better but I need somehow to get to it…

I know what I want out of D4, better resource generation on Barbarian early on. It’s like the only class that still suffers from this. No clue why

I’ve been leveling via a build that removes around Kick. I’m building to max resource via Lunging Strike constantly … it doesn’t feel so bad. I’m at level 45 or so.
When I’m in need of a rage boost, i’m finding the “gain Primary Resource” Rune works well. I’ve tied it to Evade, currently, and I think I gain 45-50 rage per Evade. Maybe that’ll be helpful.

There are also ‘gain Rage while Berserking’ and ‘gain Rage while Shouting’ Aspects, but they don’t fit into my build. Maybe they fit into yours.

I hear you, I guess my point is on other characters I only needed to spec into one or two resource passives. On barbarian you need all of them.

On druid I’m mainly worried about damage and tankiness. On barbarian I’m worried about damage and resource gen

If you aren’t having fun don’t play.

Simple as

I quit last season early because I wasn’t having fun, even though I had randomly picked the winning barb build. So far this season I’m having fun, for now, so I’m playing. I’m only at pit 20 though as I’ve also been playing Oblivion for the 9th time

with the season 8 design that requires players to run across the country chasing the green asparagus, i even feel tortured just watching barbs and druids doing the chasing.

It’s not identical. You have new powers to test and analyze. Do you still need to play the game or do you want to start at level 60?

Some skills play better later, you don’t need to use the same skills early as you do later.
Also there is a resource gen affix on Helm, Chest and Boots. If they don’t drop for you, you can always enchant for them…yes I know this can get expensive but it’s not as bad early. to me it is worth trying to get those so I don’t need to worry about running out of resource. As soon as you get rare rings, temper resource generation on them also.

That said level barb early with something like Bash + Double Swing that Bash will stun and Double Swing can generate 25 fury when hitting stunned 3rd option. This can greatly reduce your resource drain very early on.

Once you have the resource gen on gear and/or tempered on rings, go back to WW.
This is what I do on every class for early game so it is not a slog.

A good example is Lightning Storm on Druid. It is so resource hungry that early game it feels so bad…but later it becomes really nice.

or we can question why we need 6-8 hours absolutly boring filler content each season.

Don’t forget that some people only have 1-2 hours a day to play. For some people this means literaly 1 week of boring gaming and that is probably not tolerable for some people.

Yea the pro gamer in mothers basement can scrup 8 hours a day easaly…

I will not start a game when i have to dig through 8 hours boring content before it starts to get interesting,

which part exactly of the handful of hours it needs to reach lvl 60 feels bad?

It was fast and easy for me. Pretty much same like every other season, and I’ve played almost every class at this point… Maybe a bit slower than before but that’s a good thing.

Some builds work better for leveling than others, depending on what gear and aspects you already found. I changed my sorceress build 3 times before I reached 60, depending on what I had available at the time. Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun instead of trying to “force a build”.

Or why play in a season. Eternal exists. Personally I think its to fast and a cheap experience.

2 hours a day still puts you in T3 by the weekend.

I enjoy it, the early game is the best part. We’re weak and death can come for us at any turn and so we stay on our toes, good stuff. I hope they keep the S8 early game exactly as is, it’s perfect.

All of them, which is why I stopped playing. I’m sorry, but a fresh coat of paint & some new carpets means nothing if the structure is bad.
