I do not understand why people are calling leveling slow, boring or tedious. The season has been out for just over 72 hours and people are complaining that they arent 60 and fully decked out in gear.
I dont get it. Exactly how fast do you want to go? Do you even want to play the game? It seems like people want to level to 60 in 1 hour and be fully decked out in 2 hours.
And then what? Wasnt it boring just racing to 60 and 1-shotting bosses over and over again? What is there to do if there isnt the slightest challenge?
When you set a precedent it’s hard to walk it back.
D4 made the mistake of setting the precedent in S7 that you do log in and you’re already there so now people log in and they are confused. It makes sense. It’s the same as anything else in life where an expectation of consistency is present.
E: But what’s funny is that the playerbase asked for this!
Agreed. It did take me back a bit at first simply because I had mentally set D4 as my “theorycrafting only” game where I just got gear and played around without thinking about it. Now I have to do more than that but it’s quite fast still. I did find it more engaging to actually sift through some blues and yellows so they hit the mark on that.
yea, i feel that. I love how i for once dont fall asleep doing bosses, and actually have to pay attention. Meanwhile players are dropping left and right as they absolutely lost the ability to pay attention to whats happening xD
Hah, i just got spanked badly by belial on t3. Did him solo cause heck, you cant trust randoms to dodge anything right now and i for sure cant solo him on t4 yet ^^
That boy for sure wasnt happy to see me i can tell you that xD
If anything does this game in at the end of the day, it’ll be this. They should seriously rebrand Blizzard as The Waffle House, because they can’t stick to anything. They have an approach and people complain, they just immediately shift.
They’ve been firm on a few things ironically enough, and not always for the better, but what it feels like is that they have far too few people working on the game that hold a deeply informed, united vision of what the game should be, and that every time they do something, they’re ready to go back on it next quarter if they see complaints.
You need visionaries to make great games and I think they’ve just got corporate yes men and worker bees subordinated to HR, the boardroom and quarterly profits. There’s just not much genius or soul in there, or if there is, it’s being terribly suppressed by their corporate culture.
Hasn’t seemed to be for me. I’ve made usual season start time wise and I’m @ 140 or so. It may be a little slower but it doesn’t feel like a problem
I got 5 glyphs to legendary before I equipped the 5th one. 1-200 paragon should be a lot faster and the rest after that should be slower to how it is now.
I don’t get how dragging out the leveling experience makes it more challenging. Making it harder to force yourself to do what you have been burnt out on from the last 3 seasons?
The players who find it tedious and boring don’t get your point of view. At this point in the season many are getting powerleveled and the extra 30 minutes does not matter.
Even if you are not getting powerleveled then the boring end-game cycle starts a few hours later with the same result. Not seeing it personally. You do you.
Ah we can agree to disagree here. I will be @ 200 shortly and it’s only day 3. The season is shorter than usual but there’s still 60 days left. I don’t mind the pace I’m experiencing. Sure I can finish the season in a hurry and go and play the other games but I like the combat in D4. Personal opinion but what’s the hurry?
Complain that there’s nothing to do at the endgame of course
And spend time on the forum while other players are enjoying they game.
I’m curious how the games been marketed to the bulk of these players, to have expectations as you outline. Is that the issue or is just players trying to earn their participation trophies in too many games all marketing and vying for their attention?
Like we know platforms of all kinds these days are doing the latter.
