So me and my buddies were trying to think of how we wanted to approach leveling once live hits in june.
One of my friends thinks dungeon spamming early on would be good for gear and speed leveling purposes, but I’m more hesitant because I’m unsure of how important it is to complete the main quest line… I’d hate to gain a ton of xp spamming dungeons only to get stuck completing quests in the first zone afterwards because it’s required.
We all have the first week or two of june off and want to utilize our time well. Hopefully being one of the first to reach endgame and such. And i feel severely disadvantaged because i didn’t get into the closed beta… and the open beta is limited to one zone with a level cap and many in-game systems not available to see or mess around with.
Anyone here have any tips and tricks they might want to share regarding leveling and progressing the first few weeks of the game launch?
Wtf would someone not do the story first? Its awesome.
I plan on going back at a later date and watching in game cut scenes and cinematics voice acting etc but on launch will be skipping all that i can skip in order to be more efficient and not waste time with story and plot. I know some people care more about the lore but that isn’t our goal as a group.
Will there be some kind of ladder on launch?
I hope so but am not sure tbh
I think you want to do the main story at least. I think the next difficulty tier that drops better loot is locked behind that and level 50?
You will also want to get account wide progress done like Lilith statues and renown that increase your character’s power.
Plus it’s kinda boring and lame doing that at the start of the game, it’s not like the first season starts right away. There are no leaderboards or anything important to rush with.

At launch, no. It will be a while. No eta Ive heard on season 1 start but Id expect a few months.
If you want to watch all the scenes and do the entire story, release would be the ideal time to do it.
You get bonuses for completing quests, exploration and other things in the world. If you only spam dungeons you miss out on those and have to complete them later anyways… I would just explore main quest and do side quests and those tasks while leveling so less of those to do when you reach level cap.
A lot of the side quests are in the dungeons or end up in there. So you get to do plenty of dungeons while doing quests.
Many main story quests also happen in a dungeon environment.
