Level Boosting in D4?

Hey guys just wondering what your thoughts are in regards to level Boosting?
For me it has always been a part of Diablo or at least from D2.
Getting help from another friendly player to get you to endgame faster or helping out a new starter yourself is something i always loved about Diablo games.
Is this something that will be possible and if so what are your opinions in it?

Personally I think boosting is terrible. Leveling is part of the experience, but I can somewhat understand after a dozen or so seasons.

As for it being possible, somewhat? Because monsters scale, no matter how faster you kill things, the “boostee” will only get experience for their level killwise. The speed at which people can be boosted wouldn’t be a rush to max level but rather a speed boost. I don’t expect it to be worth the effort honestly.

we still dont know if its possible to jumpstart some1 into t4, by doing the capstone in party with level 1.

Until then everything is possible. But if it isnt, boosting will probably die out, i doubt anyone needs a t2 boost.

Scaling of monsters is a good step on the way to kill off level boosting. You should not be able to piggyback.

Even if monsters scale with your level, playing with a character with a synergistic well equipped build will significantly increase clear times and leveling. It won’t be like D3 where you leech like 4 T6 rifts and you hit 70. Unless of course unlocking higher difficulties transfers to seasons, which I don’t think it currently does?

I guess we’ll see. I personally don’t like it, but I can understand why people do it.

I think everyone should have to play the campaign once. After that, if they want to power level another character that should be fine.

If that is possible, I expect them to patch it out once people start doing it.

It was necessary in D2, as playing through the story 3 times to get to the endgame was cancer… It wasn’t necessary in D3 and it’s not necessary in D4.

I think getting help with the capstone dungeons will be the new “boost”… they require certain level before you enter right? Think I read that somewhere. :beers:

I wish campaign progress was shared between characters. I’m probably going to have to play campaign at least twice. Once solo and once with a friend who won’t clear it as quickly in all likelihood. But probably just as well as I think he’s going to want to skip conversations and cinematics.

Anyone know if the fps cap is working in game? It seemed hit or miss to me in server slam. I’m really not digging Radeon Chill.

I am using Nvdia control panel to cap my fps to my screen rate, worked during server slam. :beers:

I also hope they reintroduce the true fullscreen option for live. They removed it in first open beta and didn’t bring it back for server slam.

Yeah, I have AMD. There’s a Radeon chill feature. I tried it on another game though and wasn’t a fan.

No. You just cant enter the next tier until you reach a required level, and the capstone monster levels are static, not adaptive.

You could in theory get ran through it at level 1 (unless it is locked off by campaign, then obviously youll have to level at least a few times) but you cant go to wt3 until lvl 50.

but only for your first char. second chars can just press skip campaign.

guess no1 tested it during cl beta if it was possible to enter capstones with a level 1 char.

It was possible. I had lvl 5 chars in wt5. World tiers also didnt have level restrictions though along with there being no campaign, so you may and probably do have to complete a certain amount to be able to go in the first one the first time.

Im curious if you have to hit those levels (ie 50 for wt3) for every char, or just your first. If its every char, that will put a damper in powerleveling too (wt exp boosts) which I personally dont mind at all.

well that proves it, that this can be a thing. True it doesnt affect much if people do that. But if its possible, it will certainly be sold on rmt sites.

It doesnt matter what the requirements are. Leveling services will be a thing, and always will be.

i don’t know about the level requierement, but Piepora stated that it is possible to group to do the capstone dungeon, he added “but you know what you have done”. Meaning shame on you.
