Am I correct in believing that you cannot find any equipment higher than level 60, unless you enter the Torment level?
You can’t get Ancestral gear until you get to tier4. Once you do, you will get both Ancestral and Sacred gear and will be able to enjoy more of the same content and gear variety. Enjoy your journey, Exile… oops. Try not to fall asleep, Nephalem.
The “level” of the gear doesn’t matter, it’s just the minimum level to wear. Gear in WT3 caps out at 60 as a maximum. That level number is fairly meaningless unless you are trying to trade or gear another of your characters.
What’s important is the ilvl (item level). At 725 or higher, the item has access to the highest range of affixes. Both Sacred (WT3) and Ancestral (WT4) can be 725 or higher. High end Sacred can be 725 or higher, while low end Ancestral can be lower. As a general rule, I ditch anything below 725 by WT4, and in fact all Sacred (because it’s just easier to filter).
You can upgrade 700-724 above the 725 threshold, but it’s a whole thing that will reroll the affix values on your item when you cross 725. The smith will give you a preview before you cross it - so pay attention!
After that, the affixes that are present are priority. You’ll want things that boost your build. Most use crit/crit dam/vulnerability. Defense pieces like chest/head/legs players prefer Armor/Damage Reduction/Life. Currently, Resists are terrible and should be ignored.
Thank you. Your replies answered my question.
