Level 100 Feels Bad :(

I’ve been at level 100 with my Druid for a little while now, and I find myself not having the motivation to play. I like a lot of things about D4, but the end game is not one of them. Getting to level 100, I did a ton of helltides, and they were great for leveling but now I don’t see a point to them. I run NM dungeons hoping to optimize my build, but the rewards are super lack-luster. I don’t remember the last time I got an actual upgrade. I’ve been searching for a better staff, but I don’t think I’ve seen even 1 drop with 800+ ilevel. The rewards for completing high tier NM dungeons are garbage. I am running Tier 60 NM dungeons, and I get 2 rewards. Very often one of them is a sacred leggo and the other is a ancient rare 750-780 ilevel. The mobs drop the occasional leggo that’s immediately vendor’d because of either being a useless aspect or low ilevel for the content. In D3, running GRs the higher the level the better the rewards usually were. Also, you could complete GRs in a few minutes. In D4, I have to backtrack to get Animus, bring crap to the pedestals, slay this or that, and it just takes longer. Plus I am constantly getting CC’d by frozen mobs. I have to grind sigil dust because high tier sigils take a lot of dust to craft, and a lot of the negatives are just not worth running. I don’t salvage many, but I do salvage the resource burn and the frozen enchanted, plus the F tier dungeons.

I would like to try out new builds, but spending 14 mill. to try something and clearing the paragon is a major PIA.

I got a couple of other classes to level 50 to try them out, but the stash space is so annoying that it makes it hard to want to grind. Plus the annoying drop rates for build-enabling aspects just gets tedious.

I am really hopeful that Season 1 addresses some of these things. D3 was rough when it first launched too, but they did a lot of things right at the end (IMO). When the D4 beta came around I went back to D3 with some friends and we honestly had a blast. Trying new builds out, trying new classes out, getting a build going was never tedious. Pushing GRs was hard, but that’s the point. Running bounties with strangers was great. Loadout mechanic, easy respec, crafting gear, adventure mode were great. D3 was 10 years old, but it still had a very solid player base. I saw a ton of people playing S28. Never had a problem finding a group to run with.

That’s weird man, I’ve had quite a few of 800+ staffs drop and I’m mid level 70’s, including ancestral legendaries. Could this be the druid loot table bug?

Either that or my crap luck XD

L have you tried lvl 101

no doubt sum one want to ruin company from inside start from d3 immorall now d4 wow gone to abyss as well all whts left heartstone and wow clasic

The dungeons I run typically have monsters that are 115-123 level, so yes lol.

No, they buffed exp so you could hit 100 faster. I hope this doesn’t become D3 GR loot piñata.

Now that youre 100 with your glyphs maxed perhaps do hell tied or other activities that didnt yield as much xp. Ive had several items 800+ in normal dungeons, hell tide and nm dungeons.

Rng is rng

So you don’t think that the rewards you can earn should get better harder the content you do? You are right RNG is RNG, but there has to be a better way to give the player a chance to improve their gear at higher levels. Why am still getting ilevel 700-750 and sacred rares from enemies that are level 115+

That makes it so there is no difference in running tier 42 from 70

I think they need to separate paragon levels from character levels at this point.

The problem is D3 power creep. No one wants to go back to a participation trophy game. They have achievements for achiving harder content do they not?

Also if they do that what is the point of doing anything else. It limits the desire to do anything else outside nm dungons

you gotta remember that this is the preseason. new items, systems, events ect will come out each season.

sounds like you went pretty hard when D4 came out and did all the available content quicker than most.

I would wait and see how Season 1 plays out and what they have planned for season 2 before drawing any conclusions. The game seems like it could go either way at this point, either it finds a way to get the dopamine flowing like previous games or it doesnt

Thats not really the issue. They buffed nm dungeons xp gains so much that lving is ridiculously fast. There really isnt an incentive to continuing playing that character because end game starts at 50 by 85 your geared in 800+ gear and you just have the grind to 100.

When you hit 100 all thats left to do is farm better gear but the itemization isnt exciting and doesnt hold attention.

Lots of ppl QQ because they believed end game started at 100 when it really does end

I agree. I am hopeful that the season will improve things especially the QoL aspects like stash space, respec costs, occultist re-roll costs, being able to see the possible occultist rolls on items. Maybe even new end game content. I have no doubt that Tier 5 will be introduced in Season 1.

91 feels terrible atm I am dreading 100

Okay, I see this argument a lot but leveling past 70 is not “ridiculously” fast. I have friends that are still trying to level from 70 and it is still a grind.

Than they arnt doing nm dungeons. It takes 1 hr per lv after 90

u finished endgame? what endgame? you’re 100. the game ends at 100.

endgame is level 60 to 99. at 100 its new char time as you are done.

Yeah pretty much this. Thats why the xp boost was an aweful idea

Hmm usually there are things to do with a maxed out character such as farm faster and more efficiently to trade items, find gear for Alts, or difficult challenges that have proportional rewards, neither of which exist in this game

Uber Lilith is about it. It’s fine because it rewards a mount and cool title

I am pretty sure level 100 is part of the end-game. I am pretty sure getting you build strong enough to take on uber Lillith is part of the end game? I am pretty sure pushing NM dungeons to level 100 is part of the end game? That is a pretty silly argument to make in a ARPG game.
