Most players who can handle a Pit 100+ can melt everything in this game before its even seen. The only real goal after the fact is PIT 150+, where combat is just a completely different experience, e.g., herding piles of mobs and covering the screen with blue particles.
The absolute best experience in this game is Level 1 to 20 on Expert mode. Mobs burn down at the perfect speed, they have a chance to kill you if you play foolish, and players (most of them) aren’t able to maintain an infinite pool of resource to just spam the same core attack over and over and over. The combat just feels much more “real”.
Being a god is boring.
Just bored. Whatever.

Yeah, because after Diablo 3, they had to really sell that level 25 beta and boy did they hook everyone in. I remember articles raving about the foot steps in the snow, lmfao.
Or just play any other class than spiritbirn and get that same experience for most of the game until you finally get the 4 mythics and 3 uniques you need to get past pit 90.
SB naked can go right to Tier 1 at least.

The most fun I’ve had is during the harder events that aren’t just about kill stuff as fast as possible but kinda survive-ish a bit
The way to acknowledge this is to recognize the little steps and measure/compare them (not be destination-motivated all the time)
Whenever you play some 20-25 minutes at a time and go back for a bit (say a visit in town or whatever) and are able to self-ask the question - what could’ve been done for this to feel better ? (without being burdened about if it’s efficient or not) and find the answer is not really that much => THAT is when the game is done right and is in it’s FLOW state
Sadly this game all it does is project the message “you’re not done” whatever and no matter how much you try… It’s just exhausting (all the while not being fun b.t.w.) and the only way to “bypass” that problem is hyper-efficiency, but that IMO “misses the mark” completely
- The main goal for a game to achieve is being PLAYFUL (as opposed to efficient)
Sadly many (like the vast VAST majority don’t understand this), and even worse especially in this community. Like 90% of people don’t even care about the ACTIVITY itself and care about the final results only
Or even worse - deliberately sabotaging any true efforts to fix
