All this talk about blast vs. grind. The devs should just make two pathways (which would be similar to hardcore and softcore). From here they can see which side has more people playing on it. Keep a posted number of those playing “blast” zone vs “grind zone” and end the debate once and for all.

Enemy Details
- Blast = Enemies are easy to defeat (keep same)
- Grind = Enemies have 25% increased damage, attack speed, movement speed, and health. The loot drop rate decreased by 100%, scaling to the game launch mystic drop rate. This will be the new baseline. Enemy health and damage will be reverted to value at game launch. For example, Lilith will use game launch values.

You’re just making it long for the sake of it being long. There needs to be more excitement and variability along the way. D4 has gone blast as far as xp and leveling goes because there is not enough there to support a long grind.

What if you swapped the xp and gold values? I just want more interesting gameplay, not slower leveling.

Let me start at level 50 and I will donate those first levels to you so you can add that to your char grinding time; devs make it happen.
I am using the D2 values matching hell with torment. That is not making it long for the sake of long.
I don’t think anyone is asking to just grind though. They want a game worthy of a grind and D4 isn’t there yet. So everyone would just choose the blast route and people would say “see no one likes to grind”
If you make the game a blast to play nobody would care about the grind.

I can guarantee you when you make it like that with such a comparison. 95% will choose blast and 5% will choose grind LOL
You might as well just cut the “grind” mode out LOL
It will never work with just the grind. People seem to forget that with the grind, comes full access trade. That means ubers, materials, and anything else a player can pick up. Part of the reason it all worked in the past, was you could trade for that item that was not dropping for you. Without full access trade, you have just the grind.
I enjoy doing the pit very much.
Mainly because barbarian with Shako feels immortal.
Outside of certain boss attacks ofc.
But it’s very fun for me to just take most things to the face and not notice any thing.
Was thinking more on this and while I still don’t believe it is a good comparison of blast vs grind, your idea is not without merit. Your version of grind here is much closer to a newish POE mode called Hard Mode. Everything is much harder, drops are restricted etc. etc. It’s not really what the grinders want, but it does appeal to a select few who do play it for self serving reasons. They are truly devoted & nuts though
I wholeheartedly disagree about having an extra grindy mode. Instead of wasting their time on this artificial mode, the developers should focus on more content for the majority. For those of you that want to grind, do it yourself by not picking up legendary and unique items and grind away using blues and yellows. They come in all varieties up to level 925.
