I have been enjoying the game and particularly Helltides and Legion events but wanted to talk about a much needed improvement for the legion events in particular.
They need to be more difficult/involved
I have never failed a legion event and frankly am not sure how you could even if you wanted to. The event difficulty just appears completely unable to scale correctly and means that once you have 4 or 5 semi awake people you are guaranteed victory.
Personally, much like many other areas of the game, I would like to see far far greater mob density in the legion event, along with increased spawn rate and if you really want to go all out, a kind of last stand defense while tides of the damned swarm you. But there obviously also needs to be greater elite density and everything needs way more health. Maybe throw in some aoes, cc and channel mechanics to add a little diversity to the encounters and it would be far more enjoyable I feel. It cant be good game design to just 100% know you are gonna win every single time.
It is supposed to be the gathering of hells legions after all, shouldnt there be a far greater presence than 20/30 trash and seemingly some of the weakest champions in game. Sure you are there potentially with a bunch of well built characters but the game needs to adjust better to the power level of the people involved. Perhaps Legion and other end game activities should base their scaling on combined item level / number of players or…something (if thats not how its done already).
It just seems a shame that a fairly cool concept is handled in such an underwhelming manner.
Hell, even if you just spawned all the trash for each champion pre final boss and had them converge of the middle area forcing the players to try to hold a place amid the ruins against the never ending tide…with bonus elites with extra traits…something to just increase the intensity and change this from a XP give away to a fun and hopefully challenging event.
Similar story with helltides, which are fun but the lack of any realistic upgrades past a certain point quickly turn this into yet another chore that quickly loses its value in doing. Sure some of the events are harder than others and you can definitely have a lot of fun but the experience would benefit from upping the risk factor substantially and increasing the pressure the player is under while they casually stroll around the hell marked landscape nuking mobs before they even agro.
Anyway, enjoying the game and looking forward to playing on but would like to see some changes to the difficulty of the games end game activities.
Oh and the talk around of a missing T5 would remedy some of this but I feel only temporarily until people gear up/skill up and then we are back to casual right click to win.
