Is it just me or are the legendary‘s in Diablo 3 way better than in Diablo 4? In Diablo 3 if you found a good legendary early on that was associated with a skill it could catapult your DPS, helping you cruise through the leveling process with a ton of fun slaying hordes of demons and bosses. The legendary‘s in D4 are sooo blah… and now with the nerf to multiple classes this game and my level of hype is feeling more dead than a can of sardines…
Just imagine, everything Blizz could come up with in 20 years is… “take this legendary affix and put onto your yellow”. And thats the only item/gear mechanic which users have at the release.
If you don’t want challenge you can play on T1.
Considering D3 has the worst itemization in the genre, by a wide margin, I cant really agree.
Legendaries in D4 are still too powerful, but it is a massive improvement over D3 at least.
It’s not about skill, it’s about a feeling of being a Nephilim, and being superior to demons, finding sweet loot that unlocks unfathomable power early on. It’s more fun to 99% of the player to feel powerful. If you want a ridiculous challenge, go play dark souls. Apparently this Diablo 4 game is attracting the most masochist players in franchise history.
Best games in the world. But D4 can and should have a little bit of that too. Heck, leaks have it that D4 was originally designed toward being a Souls clone.
D3s item design has to be the worst there is.

That’s only because of the late introductions to new difficulties and huge monster health values as a fix to a dead vanilla D3.

Nope. People usually quit three days into a season because seasons are a money grab.
I felt very superior to demons. I mean I was killing thousands of them without being killed myself without having to overgear the content.

but even if it was less of a ridicoulus multiplier, an item that only boosts a single skills damage is incredibly dull. there is no thought behind it, its just more damage.
no interactions no mechanical changes how it funtions just raw damage is just so uninspired.
So I guess for the people that like that individual skill we’re just forced to play in a way that we don’t enjoy?

Why would you be that?
The entire point of having items be weaker, and more generalized in their affixes, is that you might have a broader selection of skills to choose from, as they wont be tied as much to items.
If a skill does 10% less dmg due to not having item X, vs. doing 1000% less dmg due to not having item X, it makes a massive difference in viability.
I am fine with the legendary items in diablo 4 and I like it
I understand what you’re trying to say, but the skills themselves are extremely weak, even maxed out.
