Will all legacy items remain intact after update 1.4.0? I mean, will they stay the same after the patch, that’s with all the footprints already existing. Will the new gems be applicable to all legacy items? Will we also be able to fix legacy items with the new 1.4.0 update? Can you confirm this for me please?
All legacy items will be frozen as they are. This means you will not be able to alter them but you can salvage them. This was mentioned during the campfire.
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH boy, we selling those +X to skill and armor with damage reduction like water.
idk, this is just a joke. I dont know how the market will move. Im just speculating.
Edit.: Also, this change was too soon to make legacy items really that important or with market value. Unless in the future they break even more your defenses to the point people will want to get those affixes back, but even in that, will be possible only on Eternal. So, yeah…
You can only sell the base item as when you use the blacksmith upgrade it becomes account bound. The buyer will not be able to upgrade the item once 1.4 goes live.
Official responses:
As well as:
Not all the details you’re hoping for, as people still have questions about specifics, but hope this helps a little.
F…
so not even to help economy they will serve?
by god, Blizzard really commits to the “no fun allowed” rule.
With all the changes coming, I get the feeling you won’t have to worry about the previous stats on items. DR is a big hit, but with the change to armor, as well as Fortify, I don’t see it being that big of a deal in the long run. Time will tell though.
You also have to realize that with the addition of smart loot, or rather smart stat allocation, we’ll be getting upwards of 1600-2K main stat easily, and a crap ton of health. If the PTR taught me anything, it’s that stats can get to crazy levels now.
The economy will definitely not suffer though, since trading has been opened aside from Uber Uniques. The RMT will increase though.
I will tell you something, Iggi (and people will hate me for that, just watch):
I don’t worry much or care about RMT.
I mean, why bother?
If the guy wants to spend his sweet money to get that pleasure of feeling better about his character, let him do it. The only downside (and the only real problem) are the in game spammers that will use the tabs to spam some website.
And about what we were talking… I still think they throwed away an opportunity to generate good stories. Like, imagine that guy who has the item that now is ultra rare because is legacy and its valuable because of its properties (affixes) that you can’t find nowhere else and would make your character goes x100 in whatever status.
Oh I feel the exact same way. I don’t condone RMT mind you, but seeing as I never engage with it, it doesn’t affect me personally. Doesn’t mean I won’t want them removed, or punished for their crimes, just means if I see one spamming, I’m more likely to report and ignore then I am to make a stink about it on the forums, or anywhere else for that matter.
I can understand that point of view, it’d be short lived in the long run I feel, but I get it. When expansions hit I get the feeling the ilvl may as well, along with possibly a new World Tier. Obviously I don’t know for certain, but changes will be coming for sure.
However I have nothing against people making their own narratives within the game for further enjoyment. By all means, add all the stories and flavor text you want if it helps you keep engaged with a game you enjoy.
% I feel the game will be in a decent state moving forward. It’s not finished by any means, but they have essentially fixed one of the core issues I had with the game.
I mentioned this in another post, but I have a list of criteria I use to judge D4 specifically, let’s just say there’s still 4 things on that list I want to be improved. However I’m more optimistic then I was previously. I’m still skeptical, as is my nature, but I will give credit where it’s due, and they’ve come a long way since launch.
Well i guess there goes all the rares we might have been hoarding.
Lol
Same here. Sigh.
This is a double down on a “beta”. We essentially playing a new game. We have a slight head start with leveling and legacy gear but if the game is loot chase based for the player(not all players fit in this category) its a brand new restart.
I know we are both very loot centric so this hits me pretty severely.
But off to greener pastures.
